maren Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Thank you Jim and Alison. I wish I could have spent more time with you, but I really enjoyed meeting both of you. As did I! Considering how much time I spend on this board, and how many people here I have grown to think of as my friends, it was really nice to step out of the virtual and into the real contact! I'm glad you both had a good trip, and really happy that you're feeling somewhat better, Alison. Now, someday Christiern and I, separated by the enromous distance of ~80 blocks, may chance to meet!!! Today the sun is out again, but it is very cold--you timed that trip perfectly. You can say that again -- today, in fact!!! Quote
BFrank Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 I just got back from NYC myself. Saw the Gates on Wed & Thurs. Perfect weather, because Friday and Saturday were MUCH colder. Really enjoyed the park north of about 86th. Especially around the ball fields. Spent some time talking with a few "employees" who were all very friendly. A lot of the viewing of the Gates depends on the wind and the light. If you just stand and watch for a while you see lots of change that's very interesting. I noticed it especially in Thursday as there were a lot of clouds floating through. I'll post some pictures when I get them back (no digital...film, only B-) ) Quote

As for the timing of Jim and Alison's trip, here's what I saw from my windows this morning... Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 21, 2005 Author Report Posted February 21, 2005 Wow! They look even better with the snow! We have plenty of snow here as well, and I just drove into Ann Arbor, which has more than Lansing. Fun! Quote
