Hardbopjazz Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 (edited) There are 2 kittens outside in the parking lot of where I work. For 2 days now, a bunch of us have been trying to catch them, but to no avail. We have tried food. We have tried the old rabbit trap, a box with a string attached with milk undereath it We even tried surrounding them in a circle, but they always manage to run into the bushes or the wooded area. With all the snow, it's not long before they'll freeze. We haven't seen the mother. She must have abandon them, or died. Any ideas on how to catch them? Edited February 4, 2005 by Hardbopjazz Quote
Jazzmoose Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Go to a pet supply store and rent a small animal trap. They'll tell you how to use it. Quote
Noj Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Hire some friendly neighborhood kids to take care of it... Quote

ghost of miles Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Cheese?! Tuna, I say. Or turkey. If it's a hep cat, play it some jazz. Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Yes, get an extension cord, an old beat up chair draped with an old towel and hang one of those low-watt automotive heat lamps in there and leave it for the night. If it's warm in there, they'll cruise in. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted February 4, 2005 Author Report Posted February 4, 2005 Someone went and got a trap. Hopefully this will work. It's been 2 hours but nothing as of yet. Quote
AfricaBrass Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Have you thought about using cheese? I hear great things about cheese. Quote
catesta Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Have you thought about using cheese? I hear great things about cheese. Exactly! You can't trap anything without the use of cheese. Quote
catesta Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 (edited) Cheese?! Tuna, I say. Or turkey. If it's a hep cat, play it some jazz. Tuna works for mice just fine, but cats? Turkey is the preferred bait of world class fishermen, I've never heard of it used for a cat. Edited February 4, 2005 by catesta Quote
AfricaBrass Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 Have you tried the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch? I know it works well on ferocious rabbits. Quote
AfricaBrass Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 try some cheese! That photo also works for turkey. Quote
7/4 Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 try some cheese! I think the man said he was trying to catch cats, not p*ssies..... It's just another example of cheese... Quote
catesta Posted February 4, 2005 Report Posted February 4, 2005 It's just another example of cheese... Processed cheese for the masses. Quote
