Mosaic responded - indicated they have no dealings with this outfit. "The $11.03 is either a ripoff or will never be sent" I don't know what is actually meant by "a ripoff". Pirated material ? Or what, as "will never be sent" is a ripoff. Quote
bluesForBartok Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 Well the plot thickens. Looks like the charge went through on my card but the site indicates the order is "Pending Processing - Stock Check". Now if it is pending why did they charge me??? Also the name of the company that charged me is called Gift Essence and yep they're from Malaysia with the same Delaware address here in the states. I called the customer service line and just get a busy signal. Well if I've been had I can only blame myself. I guess if it's too good to be true it usually is. Quote
LAL Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 After three e-mails and no response, I'll have to say never order from this site. Better to buy from Mosaic and know for sure that you'll get your goods rather than add to the coffers of people with dubious credentials. Quote
Alexander Hawkins Posted February 14, 2005 Report Posted February 14, 2005 I must admit, I tried to buy a box from these people at the $11 price. It was the Leo Smith Kabell set. I figured it might be for real, given that you do see them pretty cheap from time to time. Anyway, all I got back from them was an email saying 'sorry, this item is not available' or something similar. Good job I didn't spring for the Ayler 'Holy Ghost' or Braxton '23 Standards' boxes which were also at this markdown..! Quote

I got the same response as Blue for Bartok. I took the extra precaution of cancelling my credit card. Their certification expired and I just don't trust them. I didn't need to worry that extra charges would show up on the card. Quote
mgraham333 Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 (edited) I placed an order on 02/04. I called my card company and listened to my last 5 transactions and learned that on 02/07 my card was charged for the amount of the order. My order status at showed up as "Pending Processing - Stock Check". After no movement on the order status and no response from customer service I decided yesterday to send one last email to their customer service address in which I told them that if they did not respond within 24 hours I would contact my credit card company to dispute their fraudulent charge. I also indicated that I would contact the FTC's consumer fraud division to report their suspicious business practices. I called my credit card company today to dispute the charge and the charge was no longer there. I filled out a complaint form at the FTC's website. I suggest anyone else who has ordered from these yahoos to do the same. Edited February 15, 2005 by mgraham333 Quote
Soul Stream Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 Why would ya'll try and order this when it's obviously not paying the artist in any way? I thought we all wanted to see these guys or their families finally paid. Not to be the royalty police, I'm not...but this is obviously not kosher. Quote

I thought we all wanted to see these guys or their families finally paid. Well, if one thought of these sets as "legit" and not "pirated," why wouldn't the artists get paid? I assumed that this company - none too smart apparently - simply purchased these from the same wholesaler (Mosaic?) that supplies these to other on-line websites, but screwed up the pricing through some internal error. It has nothing to do with taking advantage of Mosaic or the artists, but of a pricing error on the part of the seller (and I'm not abbove that! ). btw, though I ordered a couple of sets I never expected to get them. I figured that, if in stock, I'd be informed of a pricing error or some such excuse. But some retailers honor their pricing errors and I've known people who have gotten some great deals from Amazon and other sources that way. Quote
Guest Chaney Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 Is there perhaps fine print as to their taking your money beforehand? I only ask as I ran across this just one time with a British company. I ordered three or four copies of one particular recently OOP CD only to then learn that my ordered CDs weren't actually in stock but, now that they had my money, they'd locate what I had ordered. (I had made the financial commitment so now they'd go to work for me.) I didn't read the small print so I got (temporarily) burned. Quote
RDK Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 So far nothing's been charged to my cc. Quote

Sincerely, MusicBoleh.com Customer Service Quote
mgraham333 Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 I got the same message as RDK. Looks like they're either working through their backlog of customer service emails or responding to the squeaky wheels. Quote
Brad Posted February 22, 2005 Report Posted February 22, 2005 I never got an email but the item has been removed from my credit card and the site indicates out of stock/not available. All's well that ends well as the saying goes. Quote
