MoGrubb Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 BBQ'd salmon. Hopefully you're talking a method of cooking and not barbeque sauce? Quote
Elissa Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Cuban sandwiches: Homemade mayo. Homemade turkey breast, brined for a few days and then pan roasted, a la Michael Roberts' Parisian Home Cooking. Homemade pork loin, brined for a few days; set an herb mix for a day or two; then roasted. Arugula. Guacamole. "Grilled" on a cast iron skillet with a pan smashing them down. Husband and guests quite satisfyingly in ecstasy. Must say though, it's a strange affair to cook all that meat n' stuffs without tasting any of it. I'm still vegan. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Pizza from the freezer. Neither of us wants to cook tonight. Quote
Larry Kart Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Ham and cheese omelet. Didn't want to cook either, and this was the closest I could come and still have something warm. Quote
Joe G Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Simplicity here as well: steamed broccoli and hummus in a wrap. Quite tasty, actually. Quote
Ron S Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 Simplicity here as well: steamed broccoli and hummus in a wrap. Quite tasty, actually. Next weekend for you: Philly Cheesesteak. Or maybe not. Quote
rachel Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 I'll have one! (for nostalgia's sake of course....) and some of these??? Quote
rachel Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 (edited) uh.... no. I haven't been to Philly in 6 or 7 years. There's no way I'm not going to have a cheesesteak and a Tastykake. Moderation in all things with room to splurge once in a while. Edited January 2, 2008 by rachel Quote

Cheesesteak and the Tastykake must be like our barbeque and the Moonpie. Never had Tastykake, but cheesesteak is pretty darned good. Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Reheated pot roast, carrots, potatos and gravy. Ann made this yesterday and it was GREAT! She's at class tonight and I get to revisit the experience. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 I think I'll have me some waffles! Quote
Larry Kart Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Something of my own devising: a third-of-a-pack of Trader Joe's frozen chicken strips (defrosted, of course), covered with Trader Joe's Rustico pasta sauce, then all this heated up, with some Trader Joe's peas on the side. (There seems to be a theme here.) The chicken strips-pasta sauce combo gives you the satisfying feeling of a heaping bowl of pasta but with a good deal less calories and carbs. And some Italian red wine to wash it down -- Umbria Sangiovese 2006. Quote
