Parkertown Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 Yep, I picked up Big John's "Let "Em Roll" that must be a Rare Groove vinyl edition. It sounds great! Quote
wolff Posted March 11, 2005 Report Posted March 11, 2005 The titles I picked up a few years ago did not mention 'Rare Groove'. Didn't they have a sticker on the shrink? I think there may be a few of the 'Wally' BN's around, along with some of the CONN's. They will be priced at around $18. Quote
wolff Posted March 14, 2005 Report Posted March 14, 2005 But, where? I'll do some looking around, but Redtrumpet, Acoustic Sounds and Elusive Disc may have a few. It would be nice to have a list of the titles in the series, but I get confused as they came out at about the same time as the CONN series. BTW just got the Classic Records JR Monterose BN, so I will not be needing my 'Wally' reissue. Shoot me a PM if you want it. Quote
Hackensack Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 (edited) This may explain something that has been puzzling me. I recently acquired LPs of Fred Jackson's Hootin' and Tootin' (BN) and Ornette! Both are "replica" reissues in that they have no indication on jacket or LP that this is a reissue or who is doing the reissue. The BN has the light blue label too. FWIW the Ornette! was not warped and both sound darn good to me. I have the Fred on CD, but of course have never seen an original issue. Edited October 22, 2005 by Hackensack Quote
