Don't let the word 'masterpice' throw you. Three Sounds records are masterpieces, and not being compared to anything! B-)

I may well be flamed by the grease merchants for saying this but Reuben Wilson's 'Blue Mode' has never grabbed me and sounds like an under-rehearsed jam. Cool cover art though (wasn't this a Marti Klarwein?)

Go, by the Dex. I like the melody of Cheese Cake, but not the version they play on the record. I like the rendition of Love For Sale, but that's about it. 'Dexter Calling' is so much better.

You must be surely be kidding but not for nothing Dexter called Go a "classic." While I know not everybody loves this record as much as his other BNs, to consider Go in the category of worst albums is mind boggling to say the least.

I mean this stuff is wierd, how it all works. For some reason I just don't dig it. I think the album was a little bit too over-mojulated. Billy Higgins's rivet cymbol is too close to the mic. It gets very crackly. That has been known to happen on a lot of BN albums. Such as Tina Brooks' Waiting Game.

I'm not happy with Jimmy Smith's first album, called A New Star A New Sound.  He didn't have the hip stops down yet, and compared to his later work it's disappointing.

I didn't mean it as THE WORST. I stated Go, then explained why I never dug it. I guess I should of been more specific, and it's my bad. But, now you know. I dont think of it as one of THE WORST BN's.

Which one? I love a New Perspective. I've never heard the other.

I've been flamed over this before, but I don't really dig GO that much either. Not bad, just ordinary IMHO. I much prefer others such as One Flight Up and Our Man in Paris.
