I can honestly say that I have never purchased anything from Dusty Groove. I have no qualm with them, and they have an excellent selection. I've just never felt the urge to purchase anything from them, either because I could justify not needing/wanting it, or just because I've been working hard at curbing impulse buys.

'Taint easy, letmetellyou!!!

Anyone else resisted the Bastards?

And BTW, I'm probably violating protocol by referring to them as the Bastards, since they don't have any of my money yet. I apologize. Until I actually SPEND some money on them, I will henceforth only refer to them by their proper name. :P:g

What actually keeps me from visiting their site too regularly is their reviews, which never fail to fold my stomach.

But I've been their (pardon the expression) bitch since 1999 — have only ordered from them, oh, about 50+ times ...

I've never ordered anything from Dusty Groove. Bought a Harold Land OJC LP at the brick and mortar about five years ago but that's about it.

They way I see it, there's nothing at DG that I couldn't get somewhere else and their used stuff is outrageously overpriced. What's not to love....? <_<

I placed a series of large orders when I discovered the place, realized I was spending too much, and I haven't gone back. I can't control myself there.

 ..... OH, I get it!! :excited: Al, your delivery is world class! :g I actually thought you were serious for a moment there!

Okay, I really do get it. I just don't GET it. ;) I don't know how some of you guys do it. Wait- yes I do. Of the $X,000 I've spent there over the past five years, I would say 95% of it has been spent on Brazilian stuff. I mean, they bring in the shit. I can usually scroll through their "new jazz arrivals" page in very short order... just a personal taste thing happening there. I do order some jazz from them, though. I avoid the overpriced stuff, and because I don't like to spread my credit card numbers all over the face of the earth (and because DG's service has always been terrific), they've been my main online source.

I tend to agree about the reviews, BTW, but sometimes there's enough information there (beyond what would be considered subjective information) to help me into making a decision. The "over the top" reviews I now pretty much just laugh at. It's the contradictory/hypocritical ones that get annoying from time to time.

Big Al,Scott and Brandon I admire your restraint. When I go to the bastards web site I have no such restraint -it's almost inevitable that I find something that I just have to buy. It's been my experience that I find titles there that I can't find anywhere else and I really don't think the prices are that out of line. I haven't been there recently but it's just a matter of time and when I do go there-GULP!!!
