Man with the Golden Arm Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I was doing a little browsing trying to find an honest review of Tubby Hayes' "Mexican Green" (still looking), when I happened to see that Tubby and Band play in some jazz club in this '65 cult movie staring Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Donald Sutherland and Jim Dawson. "Voodoo: While on tour in the West Indies, jazz musician Biff Bailey eavesdrops on a voodoo ceremony and is inspired to create a piece incorporating the rhythms of the dance, ignoring warnings of dire consequences." (And I've recently seen a Dizzy Reece LP called "Possession and Exorcism" where Tubular Bells is covered?") Any recs? Quote
Dan Gould Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 I have no advice, but thanks for posting this anyway. My wife loves Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing and horror movies in general. Looked this up on the All Movies site and it looks straight up her alley. I'll definitely keep an eye out for this on ebay and either stash it away or give it to her when I find it. Quote
Michael Fitzgerald Posted June 6, 2003 Report Posted June 6, 2003 I've seen this film, on AMC, I think. Not bad for its type and the jazz content makes it an interesting curiosity. Mike Quote

sidewinder Posted August 5, 2009 Report Posted August 5, 2009 (edited) six years goes by and .... voodootube trunk knurt I think the Trunk EP has sold out of its 666 copies already - didn't even make it into the shops. The movie was on the TV recently. Good fun - and bizarre seeing the late Roy Castle (better known as a TV entertainer) in Tubby's front line ! Edited August 5, 2009 by sidewinder Quote
