ghost of miles
Byrds "Stranger in a Strange Land" outtake from Turn Turn Turn sessions I've had a couple of Gene Clark Byrds-era tunes stuck in my head lately... "The Reason Why" and "The World Turns All Around Her." Legacy just put out a CD, btw, of Clark/Byrds material entitled SET YOU FREE.

ghost of miles
I've had a couple of Gene Clark Byrds-era tunes stuck in my head lately... Is it a compilation of previously released Byrds with Gene Clark tunes, or outtakes, etc? In my head: The Wiggles!! Yummy yummy Fruit Salad!! I think it's a mix... had it in my hand at a CD store earlier tonight, but dissuaded by a high sticker price and the sense that I had most of the songs on Byrds CDs already. Here it is on Amazon: Set You Free Looks like a fair number of them may be alternate versions, but I'll still have to do a comparison with the Legacy Byrds re-issues that I have... they included some alternate takes. Brandon Burke
Yesterday as I was walking home from the hardware store I started humming the opening bassline from Mal Waldron "Warm Canto". Continuing from there, I whistled my way through most of Dolphy's clairnet solo and nailed Mal's piano solo almost note for note. It was a nice walk. Alon Marcus
I was listening to Archie Shepp and his "Four for Trane". Afterwards I listened to "Giant Steps" by the master himself. Syeeda Song Flute and Naima are stuck in my head right now.
chris olivarez
I heard the opening strains of Shelly Fabraes's "Johnny Angel" and I turned off the sound as quickly as I could. The thought of that getting stuck in my head is too horrible to contemplate.

felser
"I Just Wasn't Made For These Times"/"Pet Sounds"/"Caroline, No", the final three songs on the Beach Boys 'Pet Sounds', have been running through my head off and on for weeks. Steve Miller's "Fly Like An Eagle" has had frequent spells in my head over the years. Edited February 2, 2007 by felser
