tatifan Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 A6PM1 for 60% off, no shipping. Got the Ike Quebec 45 rpm set for $9.99! Quote
BFrank Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 I ordered the Ike Quebec, too. Also Gerald Wilson "In My Time" and Elmo Hope "Trio & Quintet". Quote
ghost of miles Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Second time in recent weeks that I've jumped on that "60% off & free shipping deal"... don't miss out! Picked up three doubles--Coltrane's HALF NOTE, Hubbard's NIGHT OF THE COOKERS, and Neil Young's DECADE--for a grand total of $29. Quote
Tjazz Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 with the 60% off code Blue Note Trip - Jazzanova 2-CD $7.99 Quote
GA Russell Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Is Jazzanova - The Blue Note Trip merely a compilation of Blue Note sides (in which case I might be interested), or are the songs remixed by DJs (in which case, I wouldn't)? Quote
ghost of miles Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 50% off and no shipping and handling, good through the end of tonight: A6ODS1 Quote
Big Al Posted February 4, 2006 Author Report Posted February 4, 2006 Another 50% sale is going on, which means there's a 60% sale going on as well. Anyone have the 60% code? Quote

Big Al Posted February 15, 2006 Author Report Posted February 15, 2006 Herbie Hancock Box Clearance price w/shipping = $20. Is this worth it? Quote
BFrank Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 The Robert Plant "Dreamland" album looks interesting - especially for $1.99. A rave review from AMG, anyway. For you Zep fans, if you don't already have "How the West Was Won", this is a great time to pick it up. Probably their best live album. Quote
Tjazz Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 Herbie Hancock Box Clearance price w/shipping = $20. Is this worth it? $5 a disc, seems pretty cheap to me. How much do you want to pay? I assume it's not the original clear plastic box, but the long box folder style box. Here's some other box sets: BMG clearance items: Charlie Daniels - The Roots Remain 3 CD $3.98 The Herbie Hancock Box Chameleon, Rockit, The Eye Of The Hurricane, Watermelon Man, Maiden Voyage, 4 A.M., Death Wish (Main Title), Rain Dance, Nobu, Liza, Sun Touch, 23 more. BFrank Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 Just realized that they're running a $5.99 with NO S&H if your order is over $30. What's unusual is that this includes box sets. The fine print usually excludes boxes on these deals. For $66.80 (incl tax!), I just got: Don Cherry "Where is Brooklyn?" $5.99 Coltrane Classic Quartet - "Complete Impulse" (8CD) $36.39 (!) Charlie Parker - "Savoy & Dial Master Takes" (3CD) $19.19 YOWZA! Quote

Aggie87 Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 Actually, BF ended up doing better at BMG in this case.... The Coltrane box is $47.92 (5.99 * 8 discs) at yourmusic.com, whereas he got it for $36.39. The Parker 3 disc set is only $17.97 at yourmusic.com though. Overall he came out ahead on this order, but it benefits you to compare both sites when you're looking at box sets and the no s/h offers. Quote
BFrank Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 I just checked YM out myself. I saw that the Bird set is a couple of dollars cheaper, but I didn't see the Trane box at all, actually. That price is what really caught my eye on this order, anyway. I've never seen it that cheap (new or used). Quote
Aggie87 Posted February 24, 2006 Report Posted February 24, 2006 BF - yourmusic is the same company as BMG, and has almost the same inventory (a few things are missing from the yourmusic stock - like the Charlie Parker Verve metal box). As long as you buy one cd/month from them @5.99, there is no other obligation to being a member, and you can buy as much or as little as you want at the $5.99 rate, which includes their box sets. Ag-ster - I know people keep talking about YM. I've just stayed away because I don't need another "excuse" to buy albums. It's hard enough NOT to buy from BMG. I think of their scatter-shot sales as a control over my buying impulses. Quote

You weren't looking hard enough. The nice thing about yourmusic is the consistency--$5.99 per disc, whether it be a single disc or a 16-disc box set, all the time, with free shipping. No secret codes to know, no special sales to keep track of, no mental gymnastics required. Just a good, dependable, solid price all the time. It's boring, but it works. Quote

Aggie87 Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 So easy that someone drinking a fine single malt could even figure it out. If they would go out and spring for a damn single malt! Quote
