Big Al Posted December 16, 2004 Author Report Posted December 16, 2004 Supposedly, there’s another 60%-off/No-S&H sale with this code: L4LC9 But every time I enter it, it comes up as an invalid code. Someone wanna check that out and see if it works for you? Otherwise, I’m thankful that 888-number was posted a few posts back! Quote
WD45 Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Made my first order from Yourmusic.com(Sister company of BMG). Maybe this is old news, but I just picked up a couple MFSL's for $5.99 each shipped. Aimee Mann I couldn't find this on the site. What is it under? I searched for both COltrane and Soultrane, and oly found what appears to be the OJC. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I have a feeling that the yourmusic.com website used the wrong pictures for those 3 titles. They have the same stock # as the BMG standard CD versions. If they arrive and they are the MoFi SACDs, please let us know ASAP. They won't last long at that price... I'll order them in a millisecond. Later, Kevin Quote

jazzkrow Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 I went into the yourmusic.com site. Looks interesting-especially with NO shipping charges-and all cds only $5.99. The only catch is that you have to agree to purchase one cd per month-and they will charge your card for the $5.99 even if you do not place an order. Some of their box sets are cheaper on the BMG site. Has anyone in our group joined yet? I'd be curious about your experience.... May be worth dumping BMG for this company. I wonder if they get everything as soon as BMG does?? Quote

I wonder if they get everything as soon as BMG does?? I think yourmusic.com IS BMG-it's just another way for them to make you buy something every month, like in the old days when they mailed you that damn card that if you didn't send back in time meant you'd be stuck with Kenny G's latest. But you can quit at any time-I intend to finish out my queue and then quit. I have 6 CDs lined up, so then after those 6 months, I'm out, unless something new pops up. I've already received the Relaxin' SACD, and my credit card was charged $5.99 only. No hidden charges, no shipping, just $5.99. The box it came in and the invoice were the standard BMG ones Quote
Leeway Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 I decided to join up with www.yourmusic.com. Somewhat limited selection, but hard to beat the price. I'm taking a stab at the Mo-Fis, -- at least I hope they are! B-) Quote
Tjazz Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 I joined up at yourmusic.com too. The CD/DVD selections are only $5.99, which is cheaper than 2 discs from the BMG club. (like Fats Waller and Glenn Miller Centenial Collection) I try to line up my queue with the CD/DVD sets that are priced at $5.99. Some of the box sets are cheaper too. Quote

BFrank Posted December 19, 2004 Report Posted December 19, 2004 Check out the "Clearance" section. There's a ton of stuff for $1.99! Of course with S&H each CD is actually a little under $5, but still.......a great deal on this music. Some of the albums I put in my cart are: Miles Davis - "Volume 1" and "Volume 2" (BN RVGs) Sandy Denny - "No More Sad Refrains - Anthology" (2 CD - $3.98) "Duke Ellington Meets Coleman Hawkins" - on Impulse Richard & Linda Thompson - "Best of the Island Years" Jefferson Airplane - "Takes Off" (remastered) - they also have "Crown of Creation" for $1.99!! Latin Playboys - "Dose" ... and a bunch of other stuff. Quote
WD45 Posted December 19, 2004 Report Posted December 19, 2004 Plus, they have Jerry Orbach's lone solo album for $1.99! I ordered mine this week. Yes, the same Jerry Orbach many have come to know as Lennie Briscoe on "Law & Order." Quote
frank m Posted December 19, 2004 Report Posted December 19, 2004 If you folks aren't checking out Daedalus from time to time, you're missing a good bet. I just placed an order for 12 cd's at 5.98 a shot. From Ben Webster to Bechet, plus a few at 2.98 and 3.98. Quote
Leeway Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 Posted a few days ago about enrolling in www.yourmusic.com. Well, first bit of bad news is that my order for Ellington's "Piano in the Foreground" and Von Freeman's "The Great Divide" were backordered and CANCELED! No notice of that either, just checking my account I saw the cancellations. Also, an inquiry I made to them about some other items has gone unanswered. Looks like this might be a short relationship Quote

Tjazz Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 New : Miles Davis - Seven Steps 7-CD box set (yourmusic.com sells it for $41.95 plus tax/free shipping) Chet Baker : 3-CD box Oscar Peterson : Live at the Blue Note (4-CD) Quote
jazzkrow Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Anyone taken the plunge and bought/received the Seven Steps boxset for $41.93 from yourmusic.com I wonder if it will have different packaging (no metal spine?) at this price? Anyone know? Quote
TomNYC Posted December 30, 2004 Report Posted December 30, 2004 Because YourMusic.com is a BMG Music initiative, I suspect that it will be the same as any of the box sets available via the club. I got the Jack Johnson set via BMG and it was exactly the same as what was available in the store (metal spine). Quote
