ghost of miles Posted September 14, 2004 Report Posted September 14, 2004 I'm hoping that some of the recent RVGs (McCoy's TENDER MOMENTS & Jimmy Smith's HOME COOKIN', specifically) show up in the next month or so. Quote

Big Al Posted September 14, 2004 Author Report Posted September 14, 2004 Geez.....I can't wait til that shipment arrives!!!! Too bad there isn't a 5th to put in rotation. With that lineup, the fifth would be in the bottle, not the player! Quote
Big Al Posted September 24, 2004 Author Report Posted September 24, 2004 They’ve added some Verve LPRs! Thankfully, none of the ones I already got! Illinois Jacquet – Desert Winds James Moody Johnny Griffin – JG Roland Kirk – Live in Copenhagen Sonny Stitt – Personal Appearance Ordered the Jacquet & the Griff! Quote

Illinois Jacquet – Desert Winds James Moody Johnny Griffin – JG Roland Kirk – Live in Copenhagen Sonny Stitt – Personal Appearance Ordered the Jacquet & the Griff! Well, that figures... I just ordered all of those last week, minus the Moody. Oh, well... I still got a good deal on 'em by ordering through the Universal Music Store on EBay. You should also pick up the Stitt and the Kirk (if you don't have this one in its previous incarnation...) - good, good stuff! Quote
Big Al Posted September 25, 2004 Author Report Posted September 25, 2004 Yeah, I went back and ordered the Stitt! Not sure if I'll get the Kirk, as he's usually not my cup o' tea, but y'never know! Quote

I'll probably nab all of these, save the Kirk (part of the Mercury box, isn't it? In which case I already have it). Quote
LAL Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 I have a question. I'm not in the U.S but intend to sign up with the BMG Club using a relative's address in the U.S. Question is, are they likely to 'bombard' the relative with promotion pamphlets, CDs etc after delivering the first order? Particularly concerned about the unsolicited CDs. Thanks in advance! Quote

Particularly concerned about the unsolicited CDs. Thanks in advance! If you registered a friend, just be sure you have their account # and zip code, so you can check on their account online. Just check weekly online and you should be able to DECLINE any automatic CD shipments. You can also have email sent to you, when a CD is about to be sent automatically, then you can go online and DECLINE it. Just have the account use your email. (I assume your friend won't mind) Try to use a phone number that will go to someone that doesn't mind telemarketing calls. BMG will always call and try to get their customers to buy more over the phone. The phone offers are NEVER as good as the enrollment deal (12 for 1, plus sponsor gets 5 or 6 free) Just say NO THANK YOU as soon as you hear BMG. Course, the number you write for the phone number, is up to you. Quote
WD45 Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 Did the Bill Evans/Jim Hall "Undercurrent" album just disappear from the catalog at BMG? I had it in my cart and now it is gone. Quote

Big Al Posted October 7, 2004 Author Report Posted October 7, 2004 Sonic Youth - Sonic Nurse One of the best albums of the year, IMHO! Looks like BMG is going thru one of its periodic dry spells as far as jazz is concerned. Fourplay anyone? Quote
