WD45 Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 My new offer is unlimited 70% off. So I indulged: Wes Montgomery - Incredible Jazz Guitar [sACD Hybrid] Sonny Rollins - Tenor Madness [sACD Hybrid] $20 and change, with shipping. Woo! Quote
Saxophone__Vagina Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 Alright, what's the catch with their offer of 12 CDs for the price of 1? do they jack up the shipping and handling for all the CDs, is it a good deal to consider? Quote
ghost of miles Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 New: 10,000 Maniacs - CAMPFIRE SONGS (2) greatest hits compilation (I've been waiting for this selection) Count Basie - AT NEWPORT (Master edition) Verve Bill Evans Trio - PORTRAIT IN JAZZ (SACD hybrid) Stan Getz - Bosses and Ballads : Lost Sessions Wes Montgomery - INCREDIBLE JAZZ GUITAR (SACD hybrid) Dinah Washington - AFTER HOURS WITH MISS D (Master edition) Verve Thanks for the heads-up on the Dinah Washington. I'm just a couple music points shy of a freebie, and that looks like a good candidate... Quote

Shipping & handling is about $3/cd, slightly less when you buy/order box sets. So your 12 for 1 deal works out to about $5/cd. If a current member (like me), sponsor's you, BMG will give me 5 CDs (I pay shipping costs) and you still get the 12 for 1 deal. So please contact me or someone who is a current member of BMG before you enroll. All we need is your email address, then we can have BMG forward you the enrollment info. Quote

Aggie87 Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 I've also noticed that they now have the newest Yes 3 disc compilation. Two discs of "hits" and one disc of newly recorded material - including acoustic versions of South Side of the Sky and Roundabout. Not a bad set for someone just wanting a best-of. They've also got the recent Rhino remasters of Fragile, The Yes Album, and Close to the Edge. These all have very good sound, plus bonus tracks. Quote
Tjazz Posted May 17, 2004 Report Posted May 17, 2004 When I received the 10,000 Manicas - CAMPFIRE SONGS (2) from BMG, it was the product that's available at the retail stores. All paper covers and packaging. No BMG labeling on it. Quote
Tjazz Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 New; Tori Amos - Tales Of A Librarian (Cd/DVD) Michael Jackson - Number Ones Cyndi Lauper - At Last Quote
vibes Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 I ordered 10 CD's from BMG a couple days ago. I just logged in to their site to check on the status of the order, and every item on my order was listed as being "temporarily out of stock." Some of my order was jazz, some was rock, and one CD was rap. Has this happened to anyone else lately? Seems kind of strange that EVERYTHING would be out of stock. Quote

Depends on where you live in the states. In Florida, I get the packages within a week of shipping. California, it seems to take about 2 weeks, sometimes up to 4 weeks. Quote
GregK Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 (edited) I usually have mine within a week of placing the order. I once placed an order on a Wednesday night and had it in my mailbox the following Saturday Edited May 24, 2004 by GregK Quote

Aggie87 Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 To my surprise, they also are carrying the John Scofield/Mark Anthony Turnage collaboration, Scorched, on Deutsche Grammophon. Though it's "sales-exempt", and is listed at $19.98, so I'm guessing most folks who would want this one will find it cheaper elsewhere. But the fact that they even know it exists impresses me! Quote

Saxophone__Vagina Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 Ok what's the deal here: I signed up through their 12 for one deal, got the first six for shipping and handling, paid for another full price, now i am supposed to get my final 4 cds for shipping, how do i redeem these? wait until the one i purchsed arrives? Also what does it mean to respond to your feature selections? Being a member, is this something i have to do? Quote
Joe G Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 I believe the purchased one will come with a certificate for your free selections. Or, when they have your payment for the regular priced one, you should be able to place your order through your account online. They will send you the featured title every month if you do not respond. Of course you can send it back unopened at no cost. I have my account set up so that I do not have to respond, and they won't send it. I did that so long ago that I don't recall how to do it, unfortunately. Try customer service. Quote
riverrat Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 John Coltrane "Lush Life" SACD hybrid Miles Davis "Relaxin" SACD hybrid Bill Evans "Portrait in Jazz" SACD hybrid BMG has these listed as single discs for $24.90. I was able to order them during the 70% off sale. Not sure if they are available as free selections for new members, but if so, they would be good choices. My current deal is "buy one get three free". Quote

Tjazz Posted June 4, 2004 Report Posted June 4, 2004 (edited) Got all 5 of the latest Emmylou Harris remastered CDs. None had any BMG club label markings on it. Expanded booklets with more pictures and full lyrics and a couple of bonus cuts on each. Also got the Rita Coolidge (2CD) ANTHOLOGY, it was repackaged in a slim double jewel case vs. the paper retail packaging. There was a BMG marking on the label. Columbia House sent me a voucher form to get a CD at 75% off with no shipping for the Class-Action suit settlement. BMG had sent their voucher out a couple months ago. (I've used the BMG voucher) Edited June 5, 2004 by Tjazz Quote
