Tjazz Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Once again for the Parker Verve box. Did BMG send you this box set in the metal case as seen at retail shops? Quote
Tjazz Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 50% off and free shipping/handling. D4ODS1 (that's not a zero, but alph character for the third digit) Good thru 4/7/04. so there's not much time. Quote
BFrank Posted April 6, 2004 Report Posted April 6, 2004 I had a 60% off, but I think I deleted the email and now it doesn't apply to the shopping cart that I had set up. Oh, well......maybe next time. Quote
RDK Posted April 7, 2004 Report Posted April 7, 2004 Interesting... I just got Attica Blues from BMG and it's in a regular jewel case with a paper cover insert (poorly printed too). The other Verve LP series discs I got came in their "regular" mini-LP incarnations... Quote
Tjazz Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 another 50% off and free shipping coupon D4ODS12 (third digit is alpha, not a zero) good today and tomorrow only. (4/9 & 4/10) Expires 4/11 Quote
Aggie87 Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 Interesting... I just got Attica Blues from BMG and it's in a regular jewel case with a paper cover insert (poorly printed too). The other Verve LP series discs I got came in their "regular" mini-LP incarnations... Just received my order, and the Dizzy "Afro" title is the mini-LP. Gotta be careful with BMG on which issue of a title they are offering. Afro is listed as "remastered", but Attica Blues isn't. Alot of times BMG will wait to clear out their inventory of older editions, before they offer the newer one. And there are also instances where they offer both the newer remaster AND the older edition, for the same price. Miles Davis Vol. 1 on Blue Note is a current example... Quote
chris olivarez Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 I used this opportunity to snag the following: Horace Silver-Song For My Father(RVG) John Pizzarelli-Live At Birdland Santana-Moonflower Quote
GregK Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 another 50% off and free shipping coupon D4ODS12 (third digit is alpha, not a zero) good today and tomorrow only. (4/9 & 4/10) Expires 4/11 What is an "alpha"? I don't know how to type that Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 FWIW, I placed an order today for 12 cds. The "per disc cost" is just under $6.20 per disc including shipping. Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted April 10, 2004 Report Posted April 10, 2004 At my income level, I welcome anything the "majors" do to promote their "product" as long as it is within their contracts with the artists. I would not make the deal with them, but I will take advantage. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 i've got coupons from the 80's for "free cds" from bmg purchases, i've STILL never used. also, i've never used any of my bonus points ss1 Quote

Tjazz Posted April 12, 2004 Report Posted April 12, 2004 Available now: Doors studio box (7) Bob Dylan SACD - BLOOD ON THE TRACKS Michael McDonald - Motown Jane Monheit - Live at the Rainbow Room Red Hot Chili Peppers - remasters Quote
BFrank Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 $40 for that Doors box is a pretty good deal. Gonna get killed on shipping, though. GREAT DEAL - 4CD Louis Armstrong - "The Complete RCA Victor Recordings" $11.98. The "Straight, No Filter" for $2.99 isn't bad, either. Watch out for the $3.99 "clearance" CDs, though. After adding shipping, they aren't much cheaper than some of the regular sales they have with free shipping Quote
Tjazz Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 New stuff; Mariah Carey : Remixes (2) Edie Brickel : Volcano Faith Hill : Cry Ludacris : Chicken & Beer 2Pac : Nu-Mixx Klazzics Quote
John B Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 The "Straight, No Filter" for $2.99 isn't bad, either. It wasn't too long ago, before this was reissued, that someone paid over $300 on ebay for this one. Pays to be patient sometimes. "2Pac : Nu-Mixx Klazzics " I always get this one confused with the Bix Beiderbecke Nu-Mixx Klazzics set. Quote
Aggie87 Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 "2Pac : Nu-Mixx Klazzics " I always get this one confused with the Bix Beiderbecke Nu-Mixx Klazzics set. Ah, c'mon John - it's easy to keep those two straight. I tend to get mixed up and confuse Jimmy Smith's "Chicken & Beer" with Ludacris', which was apparently part of the Blue Note Cover Series... Yeah, once a CD gets remastered/re-issued, those rare OOP disc prices fall. Quote
