Kevin Bresnahan Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 Sometimes I want to give a big thumbs-down to the powers-that-be at Blue Note. Do not blame Blue Note... it isn't their doing. Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 (edited) Actually Brownie...I believe several were picked up in NY during their regular Canada-Tunisia run/journey. That's just one example. Edited February 15, 2005 by Son-of-a-Weizen Quote
wesbed Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 I'm going to take the funds I set aside for the BASRA purchase and spend said funds, instead, on a Prestige K2. Yeah, that'll teach Blue Note. Quote
Late Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 I deleted my cover. I forgot this wasn't the Politics forum. I didn't mind your cover. (And, in a way, any thread involving RVG is going to be political.) Actually, I'm kind of finding some (albeit sad) humor in all this. If it's Pete Sims' call to change the title — so be it. He's the artist. Is it censorship? I don't know. If it truly is Sims's decision, perhaps it's just revision. What if he retitled it Poop? And I still say go with Tyra. Quote
AfricaBrass Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 'Basra' vinyl futures just went up today ! Now I'll be able to sell my Conn for $$$ Quote

Joe Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 I would advise all board members to cease and desist with the public commentary on this whole LaRoca issue and concern themselves instead with removing all traces of this recording from their personal collections: Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 It's a letigious thing. I had no idea Pete Sims is a lawyer? Quote

Thanks for submitting the post. Quote

Man with the Golden Arm Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 Damn, Conn, all I have left is a burn of the JRVG! There'll be hell to pay for this when I hit the Capitol Beltway this morning!! B-) Sheesh! Republicans! Quote

Man with the Golden Arm Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 Playing copy that is. B-) You know I have my CD player hooked up to my X-Ray machine with special Sonography mono-blocks so I can play all my discs without ever opening them. Unfortuantely the radiological exposure / listening time line is going the wrong way. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 I gotta send this to Michael!! Later, Kevin Quote

scottb Posted February 15, 2005 Author Report Posted February 15, 2005 (edited) Time to dig a hole and climb into it.  You ain't got yer hole dug yet? You're WAYYY behind! I been livin' out of my bunker since Ruby Ridge! My scream for Kevin earlier was not blaming him in any way for the change or the info about the release in the first place. I was calling him for help and additional info much like the Bat signal. And, like Batman, he has come through again with the info. Thanks Kevin. Edited February 15, 2005 by scottb Quote

wesbed Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 Since it's dangerous to give albums exotic titles anymore and the fact that LaRoca/Sims is probably near retirement age... It does kind of already have the Miami colors on the cover. Quote
Late Posted February 15, 2005 Report Posted February 15, 2005 It does kind of already have the Miami colors on the cover. Yes, but the blue shapes against the black background are offensive. I'd rather see them be modified into dolphins (maintaining the Miami connection). Quote
