Chuck Nessa Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 T'would be helpful to know what you mean by discography. If you want a simple label listing you can get this here: http://www.jazzdiscography.com/Labels/pablo.htm . Quote
wolff Posted January 2, 2005 Author Report Posted January 2, 2005 Something with all the details: dates/songs/performers, etc.. Is this another project for Mr. Fitzgerald? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 Nope, this is a project you should pay for. Quote
wolff Posted January 2, 2005 Author Report Posted January 2, 2005 (edited) Nope, this is a project you should pay for. You are so off the wall, sometimes. Translate, please. I would be glad to help, as I have few Pablo's. Edited January 2, 2005 by wolff Quote
Michael Fitzgerald Posted January 2, 2005 Report Posted January 2, 2005 (edited) Chuck's point (if I may) is that with almost 400 issues on the Pablo labels, buying a discography would be in your interest. Chuck owns one, I do too. So do a number of other folks here. If you care enough to ask the question, you care enough to buy one. If you can't do the most up-to-date, you could pay $99 for the version 3.3 Tom Lord CD-ROM. It would answer a lot of such questions. Maybe not everything, maybe not everything entirely accurately or correctly, but it's a big start. No, I will NOT be undertaking the Pablo catalog any time soon. Uptown is the current one and I'm still waiting for folks to step forward with the rest of that info. If you have a question about a specific Pablo item, I could probably help you. wolff Posted January 2, 2005 Author Report Posted January 2, 2005 Now I understand, I think. There is not a complete one online, fine. There is one available on CD-ROM for $99. There is a more up-to-date version for more $$. Thank you for your kind response. Quote
l p Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 you could just get a hard copy of the fantasy catalog, which includes pablo releases with personnel, and tunes. Quote
mikeweil Posted January 4, 2005 Report Posted January 4, 2005 That catalog is also available for download at their website as a pdf file, but searching this for "Pablo" is slow and cumbersome. Quote
CJ Shearn Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 is there a site that features the original LP art for Pablo albums? I have d/l and burned several Pablos, and have found a few of the original covers. But I really do not like the OJC redesigned covers for Pablo albums. Quote
Michael Fitzgerald Posted January 7, 2005 Report Posted January 7, 2005 My GOD - and you'd rather have the Pablo ORIGINALS!!!???? Pablo - the label that would issue things with some large-sized text as the cover? I think they saved money by not using a photographer, nor even an art director! Mike Quote
