Soulstation1 Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 (edited) The Indians are my boys and are not very good, saw a tribe v yankees double header in summer of 79, right before munson dies in the plane crash. fwiw i was born in Ashtabula ('67). i see alot of people with ties to Ohio on the jazzboards. The Ohio Players in the hizzzzoussse. Skin tight is the jam I've never seen the Gap Band and i've gotta see "rappers delight" live. Edited June 4, 2003 by Soulstation1 Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Music always wins over sports with me. Then again, almost anything wins over sports with me. Quote
wesbed Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Soul: You going to see the Gap Band at the Del Sol? Quote
slsmcgrew Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Go with the concert. You can always catch the baseball highlights later. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 No contest for me. Watching a group of Native Americans thrash a reptile sounds...different, but put the bomb on me! Oh, sports...okay; I'd still go with the music. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 4, 2003 Author Report Posted June 4, 2003 wesbed yes to your ?. you want to go, it's outside? listen to 97.1 about the concert. this new station is great, if you like old school if i can win free tickets i could do both. i've been down with the tribe longer than my passion for the lakers. jazzbo Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Former Ohioan here, weighing in on the side of the music. Even though my Dad and my brothers could well be at the game. I'm like RT: almost everything would trump sports for me. I can understand people playing sports to a certain extent; did that too when I was young, liked soccer and tennis the best. But watching it? And paying more for every product too? Quote
kdd Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Go with the music. If it was the Indians of a few years ago, Belle, Ramirez, Lofton, Vizquel, Williams then maybe or if Johnson or Shilling were pitching then maybe but catch the music and watch the other games from the series on the tube. Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Why not drain a few pints, throw a few steaks on out in the back and blare some McLean "Capuchin Swing"? Quote
Ed S Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Why not drain a few pints, throw a few steaks on out in the back and blare some McLean "Capuchin Swing"? Hey, that's what I'm doing this weekend Quote
Guest Chaney Posted June 5, 2003 Report Posted June 5, 2003 Maybe you could donate the money you would have spent on either of these activities to charity. OH! Sorry! I thought I was Pharaohrock there for a sec! Quote
chris olivarez Posted June 11, 2003 Report Posted June 11, 2003 I'm a bit late on this thread but as a general rule of thumb I would say pick the music over the sports and I'm a big sports fan.The reason I'm saying this is that if you do it just the opposite way there's every chance that you could miss a pleasant social occasion and to make matters worse you're team might lose. I learned this the hard way. Quote
