Jim Alfredson Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 In light of Big Al's organ travesty (noted in this thread) which consists, but may not be limited to, his lack of Jimmy McGriff records and his recent aquisition of his first Brother Jack McDuff record (shame shame shame!!!) I am changing the rules for all posters. In order to be a member of the Organissimo Forums, you must own the following 10 organ records. All members disobeying this rule will be banned. In order to prove to me that you have these records, I need receipts and/or photos of you and all 10 records emailed to me no later than 7pm today. And here they are: 10. Charles Earland - Black Talk 9. Jimmy McGriff - I Got A Woman 8. Shirley Scott - Queen of the Organ 7. Don Patterson - The Exciting New Organ of Don Patterson 6. Jack McDuff - LIVE! 5. Groove Holmes - Living Soul 4. Larry Young - Unity 3. Big John Patton - Understanding 2. Jimmy Smith - Bashin' 1. Jimmy Smith - The Sermon If you don't have these, GET OUT! * This is a joke. I love you all. Really. Please don't leave. But c'mon, Big Al. Let's get with the program. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted December 29, 2004 Author Report Posted December 29, 2004 I'm in trouble! AHA! I've been looking for an excuse.... Quote
jazzbo Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Well, I have at least half these! Can I just cut down on my posting by 50%? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted December 29, 2004 Author Report Posted December 29, 2004 Well, I have at least half these! Can I just cut down on my posting by 50%? Ok. But you can only post in the first half of the board. Quote
J.A.W. Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 I'm in trouble! You're not the only one... Quote
Herb Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 I've got about half of those plus about 20 other Jimmy Smith albums, where does that put me in the satndings? Quote
Soul Stream Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Jim, you'll now have to be banned from your own website. Sorry, but your selfish inclusion of 2 Jimmy Smith records has made it impossible for your list to include maybe the best organ record ever made... Lou Donaldson's "Alligator Bogaloo" Quote
Free For All Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 (edited) Does this count? Check it out here. Pretty funny stuff. Edited December 29, 2004 by Free For All Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted December 29, 2004 Author Report Posted December 29, 2004 Does this count? Was this really advertised on TV, as it states in the upper right corner? I'd love to see those commercials!!! Quote
Guest Chaney Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 My mother has told me stories of her and my father going out on rollerskating dates at Skateland, with music being provided by an organist. Would your recommendations be good skating music? Maybe I should pick up one or two for my mother? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted December 29, 2004 Author Report Posted December 29, 2004 Ken Griffen. Talk to JSngry. He's the Griffen King. Quote

Chuck Nessa Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Alfredson, Big Al and Soul Stream need to "get right"! No mention of the greatest organ record of all time - "Face to Face". I once wrote "this record is the reason God allowed Mr Hammond to desecrate the organ". Quote

Jim R Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 All this organ shit is getting old. I say we take over the board and initiate a new, crisp, fresh, HIP instrument theme!... Quote

Dan Gould Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 If a certain rare Charlie Earland recording is on its way, Jim, do I get a lifetime exemption? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted December 29, 2004 Author Report Posted December 29, 2004 All this organ shit is getting old. I say we take over the board and initiate a new, crisp, fresh, HIP instrument theme!... As long as it's electric. We don't like no pussified acoustic instruments around here! Mount some pickups on that baby! Quote
