John Tapscott Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) Perhaps better known as a big band arranger and leader, Kim Richmond is an excellent alto soloist, with (at least to me) a most attractive sound. His writing is more on the exploratory side, but his soloing is firmly bop based. Has the late Ray Reed been mentioned? Edited December 21, 2013 by John Tapscott Quote

clifford_thornton Posted December 22, 2013 Report Posted December 22, 2013 Most people in the American & European jazz press, etc., overlook someone like Noordijk, even if Holland was quite good to him. Quote
