Guest ariceffron Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 brian mays webpage says that this is happening: "for sure" in my opinion paul is a great choice for vocal duities, but they better come to america and do their 1st tour here since 82.... Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I bet tickets will be really cheap, too. Like $150 for nosebleed. Awesome. I hope The Who go on tour again and Led Zepplin. Quote
7/4 Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I saw this a few hours ago. Does Paul Rodgers have the kind of high range that Freddie had? Quote
gdogus Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I saw this a few hours ago. Does Paul Rodgers have the kind of high range that Freddie had? I can't even imagine how this would work. Paul Rogers is a fine blues-rock singer, no doubt, and he could handle a number of such Queen songs nicely - "Fat Bottomed Girls," "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" (and things of that sort). But of course, the real question is "Bohemian Rhapsody" (and things of that sort), which I just can't hear him singing in my head. At all. Quote
7/4 Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 Maybe they'll do a bunch of Bad Co./Free tunes to round out the set. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I used to like Rogers with The Firm, back in the day (Jimmy Page's first post-Zep project). Could be interesting. Probably a hell of a lot worse choices they could have made. Quote

Joe G Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Dude! Haven't seen that guy around in a long while. I can't believe they didn't get Geoff Tate! Quote
7/4 Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Flash Gordon is on Flix this evening, I was just listening to the closing credits, music by Queen. Damm, those power chords by Brian May and those pounding drums by Roger Taylor feel good. Those guys never got the credit that other British rock hereos got like Page, Beck and Bonham. They kind of lost their following in the states with all that, uh...glam stuff, after the first few albums. As for the singing, maybe Freddie didn't always sing those high parts, but can May, Tayor and other guy still do it? Maybe they could hire a choir to sing those parts? Sounds expensive. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Quote
7/4 Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Dude! Haven't seen that guy around in a long while. Jessica Simpson? Quote
Joe G Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 I wish. John's post got in my way. Quote
John B Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Jessica Simpson. (just to make 7/4 and Joe's posts that much more confusing...) Quote
Guest ariceffron Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 you guys are all fucking idiots. 7 fucking years ago i was saying paul rodgers would be a good 'replacement' for Freddie. P-Rog is one of the best singers in rock music besides freddie. i have full, 100% faith in his ability to sing queen material, and thats from someone who hasnt even seen the recent british shows may and rodgers did together. Guest ariceffron Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 AND MIND YOU ALSO QUEEN IS ONE OF MY VERY FAVORITE ROCK GROUPS AND THE 1ST ROCK GROUP I REALLY EVER GOT INTO Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 you guys are all fucking idiots. My wife would take issue with that. Quote
