DMP Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 Mike Casinghino - Those 2 "Columbia" Jeremy Steig's that were apparently scuttled by "Collectables" - the one I had on LP was "Flute Fever" - very nice. (However, the Paul Horn "Columbia" issue, scheduled at the same time as the Steig, did make it - probably overlooked by most people, but it's excellent.) (That was his pre-pyramid days.) Back to the main subject... Funny how excited everyone (including me) is about a couple of minor "Blue Note" titles!! Quote
robviti Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 there's a lot of talent in the steig family. their father is william steig, a best-selling author who one of the main cartoonists for the new yorker magazine. jeremy's two sisters are an artist and an actress. here's one of the father's cartoons. fyi, that's not jeremy playing the flute. Ed S Posted December 14, 2004 Report Posted December 14, 2004 I really dig most of the BNs from this era that have been released by various means. I like the fact that Water seems to be picking up where the Rare Grooves left off. Not a BN, but I recently picked up the Water release of Les McCann's Invitation to Openness. One word review - Wow!
