Rooster_Ties Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 (edited) Good thing that 18 is leading in this poll, and not 16 - cuz I think you know from my post in the '1-10' thread my thoughts on 6. And my thoughts on 16 aren't much different. But just in case anybody doubts me, I'll take on every one of you people that voted for 16 if I have to. Not with fists, but with words. Words have power, and don't think I don't have the power of words. People will know about your 6 and 16 ways, and then they can make up their own minds about what they want to think. And if the band Organissimo wants to have that hanging over their careers from this board, then that's their choice. The power I have with words will be to use your own words against you - your words about the numbers 6 and 16 that show how you hate the other numbers that are loved the world over. Any more voting for 16 and I will be forced to get a court order to find out who voted for which numbers, in all the polls, so that the 6 people and the 16 people can't hide any more. You think I can't do it, but I can. Once you vote, the board software knows you voted - cuz it won't let you vote again. And if it knows you voted, it knows how you voted - and if I have to - I will bring you 6 people, and you 16 people out where the world can see you for who you are. See how you like that, before you go voting for numbers that have implications to them outside of your precious little board. I'm thinking about what I can do to the people who set up these polls, so that innocent children can vote for any number they like, without any kind of warning. Who included 6 and 16 in these polls?? And who set up the board softward to even allow 6 and 16 as choices in polls like this. I want answers, and I'll do what I have to, to get them. You have been warned, but not threatened, because this is just a promise. Edited June 2, 2003 by Rooster_Ties Quote

.:.impossible Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 (edited) Eleven is a fantastic number. What are you talking about?! First of all, it is prime. Second of all, it is the only prime two-digit number in an elite set (11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88, 99) of two-digit numbers. Third of all, multiply it by any single-digit number. What do you get? Mirrors! See above set of elite two-digit numbers. 1x11=11 2x11=22 3x11=33 4x11=44 5x11="I drive ______!" 6x11=and so on. Fourth of all, eleven corresponds directly, alphabetically speaking, with the letter "k". "k" is the only letter in the alphabet that has an identically phonetic twin. See "c". For whatever reason, " 'insert number hear' of all" doesn't sound right after "third of all," at which point I begin to wonder what "of all" refers to. Eleven just rolls right off the tongue. The only good guitar amps go to eleven. Not to get all spiritual and religious and all, but on the eleventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me eleven pipers piping. Is there any other logical day on the Roman calendar to give someone any number of pipers piping? I can't come up with one. Maybe November 11, but I think that is a bit early still. If I think of any more positive attributes to the number eleven, I will be sure to post them here. .:. I didn't vote. 2004 is an off year. EDIT: I originally mispelled "tongue" "tounge." BruceH Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 This was tough----a lot of my favorite numbers are on this list. Hard to choose between 14,17, and 18. I finally voted for 12 because it's evenly divisible by 2,3,4, and 6. That's four numbers (not counting itself and one, of course). That's a lot of divisors for such a small number. Sure, 18 has 2,3,6, and 9 but look how much bigger 18 is than 12! 12 is amazing! Rooster, why so down on 16? It is, after all, 2 times 8, and eight is great. Quote

Jazzmoose Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Thanks for the opportunity to vote on this one and bring the magnificent 16 up to 16%! Woo hoo!!! Quote
MartyJazz Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 I picked 18 because of its significance in the Jewish religion. In Hebrew, "chai" which means "life" is composed of only two letters, the 10th and 8th letters of the Hebrew alphabet, which together add up of course to 18. Among Jews, monetary gifts are often given in multiples of 18. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Oops...we're supposed to say why? I picked 16 because of my initials, MDC. It's always been a favorite number. Quote
