JSngry Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 There are no "wrong" answers, so feel free!!! Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Why have you offered '1' and '10' in the poll when the requirement is to pick any number 'between' 1 and 10? Quote
Ed S Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 That's exactly why I picked nine. I always say if you mean inclusive, say inclusive Quote
Brad Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Why have you offered '1' and '10' in the poll when the requirement is to pick any number 'between' 1 and 10? Bev must be a lawyer. If this poll isn't enough, I've got a few insurance policies, tax codes for him to dissect Quote
Dan Gould Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Excuse me, but shouldn't the poll have included the digits 1-10 PLUS Benny Golson? OK, the name of the album was "pick a number *from* 1 to 10" but still ... Quote
JSngry Posted June 1, 2003 Author Report Posted June 1, 2003 Why have you offered '1' and '10' in the poll when the requirement is to pick any number 'between' 1 and 10? This is a laissez-faire poll. The choices offered are under no obligation to fall strictly within the parameters of the question, nor does one have an obligation to be limited by the boundaries of the question if one feels a compeeling pull to venture outside said boundaries AND is willing to accept responsibilities for any resultant results. Life is tricky like that, doncha' know. Quote
JSngry Posted June 1, 2003 Author Report Posted June 1, 2003 I sense barriers being broken!!! :D Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I picked "8" which was my favorite number as a kid. I have now...ahem...matured beyond the need to have "favorite" numbers. Hmm, looks like I will have to devise another poll; these manque pollmakers with their ersatz polls are really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Quote
Guest Chaney Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 Sorry JS but since Bev has identified your error, I can not participate in your otherwise worthwhile poll. That being the case, I feel that my rights as a potential voter have been violated and I seek redress. Please have your attorney contact mine (Lawsuits-R-Us) and we'll attempt to settle this matter without the need of costly and time-consuming legal action. If we are not able to settle this matter, I will of course file suit and call Bev as an expert witness. I sincerely hope that will not be necessary. (Bev: Please be on the ready. Arrangements for your comfort have been arranged at the very finest that Buffalo has to offer: Motel 6.) Quote
JohnS Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 (edited) I picked 7 for no particular reason. Why is it leading the field? Edited June 1, 2003 by JohnS Quote

7/4 Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I picked 7 for no particular reason. Why is it leading the field? Because it's the highest prime number less than 10? Quote
Soul Stream Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 i picked 1...nobody ever picks the obvious. Quote

That being the case, I feel that my rights as a potential voter have been violated and I seek redress. Your participation, or lack thereof, is entirely a matter of personal choice. Attempts to prove otherwise WILL prove futile. However, in the spirit of Botherhood , I offer you the option of setting up your own poll in this forum, parameters exactly as YOU deisre, and all expenses paid by me. It's a good offer - use it or lose it! :D Quote
paul secor Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 I picked 7 because I was born on the seventh, but 7 was also Mickey Mantle's number and I was a Willie Mays fan and always resented the fact that Mickey was the favorite here in New York, so if 24 was an option, I'd have gone with that.
