spinlps Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 What's the consensus on #126 The Complete Johnny Hodges Recordings 1951-1955 (6 LPs) ? I have an opportunity locally to purchase this set. I tried a Completed Items search on ebay but nothing came up. I was thinking of offering $150? Does anyone have a complete discography of this set? Looks like Mosaic pulled that info since it's OOP. Quote

Brad Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 Speaking from personal experience, the prices on this set are low so you should be able to get one for $200 or less. Quote

Bluerein Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 I belive this music is also covered by 2 Blue Moon/Fresh Sound CD sets (OOP now). I'm interested in these sets but no luck yet getting them (anyone???). Quote
mikeweil Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 The two boxed sets are "temporarily out of stock", but individual CDs are available: Hodges Blue Moon CDs. Quote
Bluerein Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 Thanks Mike but that's a whole different era we're talking about (pre 50's). Quote

At the end of the (B) section of February 28, 1951, there should be an alternate take listed for "the jeep is jumping". Quote

An alternate of 514 (take unknown) "The Jeep Is Jumping" appeared on Norgran 101. My post above has been corrected accordingly. Quote
David Ayers Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Thanks Mike but that's a whole different era we're talking about (pre 50's). I think The Complete 1941 - 1954 Small Group Sessions Vols 3-5 cover much if not all of this material. Quote
