wolff Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 Noticed this on another forum. LP comes out Dec 7. Nice article on making the LP is found here. Mastering the vinyl LP's Quote
DrJ Posted November 24, 2004 Report Posted November 24, 2004 I want to know when he's going to get around to doing his much-discussed series of boxed sets of his various "eras" (with, rumor has it, many added previously unreleased tracks!). When he does I hope he considers doing some limited vinyl runs. Quote
Z-Man Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 I too eagerly await the long-rumored "Archives" set. We may be waiting a long time, though. My understanding is that Neil and Joel Bernstein have been working on this project for years, but release is always stalled by Neil's rejection of the song selection or length. Given that every NY album for the last several years has been released on vinyl, I would imagine this one would be as well, if and when it does see the light of day. Quote
porcy62 Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 Actually I know and love NY until Live Rust. A part Dead Man OST and Mirrorball, I don't know very well his later work, any suggestion where to start? Quote
Brandon Burke Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 following neil by his studio records is very Very VERY miseleading... the major masterpieces are "Freedom" & "Greendale"... maybe "Sleeps With Angels." the very good ones are "Sleeps With Angels," "Harvest Moon," "Silver & Gold," & ya' know, the heavy electric one after "Freedom." oh right, "Ragged Glory" tho' i like "Reactor" more. C'mon man... On the Beach belongs on one of those lists. Quote
DrJ Posted November 28, 2004 Report Posted November 28, 2004 I think he was talking about "later period Neil Young," Brandon. If you'll notice he only talks about stuff from the 80s on. Quote

wolff Posted November 28, 2004 Author Report Posted November 28, 2004 Oops. My bad. Not really, considering his writing style. BTW this album is getting raves in it's CD/DVD edition. What I appreciate is Neil had it mastered in analog, also. Quote
