bertrand Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 In 1987, I made a choice to leave Paris, France and move to Washington, D.C. Both are among the most beautiful and culturally exciting cities in the world. It was not an easy choice, what with most of my family in France, but I knew that for personal and professional reasons, the U.S. was a better fit for me. I was able to go back and forth thanks to my dual nationality. For the first time in seventeen years, the election (NOT reelection) of the tyrant-in-chief has made me question whether I made the right decision. I have way too many commitments to the U.S. now to probably ever go back (who else is going to dust off those copyright deposits at the Library of Congress ), but I never thought I would ever be in a situation where I would even question my decision. And remember, I moved here during the Reagan years! Bertrand. Quote

bertrand Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 That's why I'm not moving. I'm just saying the election has made me even think about it - and that's scary in itself. Bertrand. Quote
JSngry Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 I got Little Rock, too. And Milwaukee. And Baton Rouge. And Hartford. And Chicago. And Philadelphia. And just about every city east of the Mississippi. Except New York, which is just as well. It's SO 20th century. They didn't ask questions about jazz, cable internet, or Mexican food, so fuck'em, they don't know shit about me. Which is why I'm moving to New Chikandelphorleans City. One of these days. Quote
Spontooneous Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Milwaukee. Should I laugh or cry? Others included Little Rock, San Jose, Baton Rouge ... and Sheboygan and Eau Claire! Guess I need to nurture my inner cheesehead. Quote

Then you should move to Pittsburgh, Texas: http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tips/getAtt...ractionNo==6516 (but beware - the locally made hot links are OUTSTANDING, and kick the chicken's scrawny little ass all the way back to, uh...Little Rock!)
