PHILLYQ Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 My wife and I went around 6:30 this evening. We still use the old machines with the lever, but somehow they still work. There seemed to be pretty heavy turnout, as we had to wait about 20 minutes to vote. Usually we're in and out in about 5 minutes. I overheard some of the poll workers say that there were people waiting at 6:00 A.M. Whatever way it goes, it's good to see a heavy turnout. Quote
DrJ Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 Punch cards. I was on call today so wanted to get my voting in before starting the shift at 8, so went at 7 AM and was done (and being in CA, one of the first to vote on the actual day). Go Kerry. Quote
jlhoots Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 We have early voting, so I voted about a week ago. I got a ballot & a #2 pencil. Quote
ghost of miles Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 I was grateful that there weren't any terror incidents at the polls. Just a couple of assault weapon/suicide bombing attacks would have created real havoc in the voting process--not to mention loss of life. Quote
rachel Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 (edited) Easy process from start to finish. First, I figured out where I needed to go about a month ago (why wait until the last minute... ) Long line at 6 am so I went back over my lunch hour and was in and out in five minutes. No big mean Democrat or Republican tried to hide all of the ballots from me...( although the Republican pollworker noticed my last initial is "W" and said "we could call you Dubya just like our next President!" I just blankly looked at her and wondered aloud if she knew the meaning of the word 'electioneering'.... Edited November 3, 2004 by rachel Quote
BruceH Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 It's the POST-voting experiance that really bothered me. Quote
