ASNL77 Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 (edited) Do you know if, apart from the 'One night with Blue Note' there are other DVDs with the cream of the cream of the blue note personnel 1959-1966.Are there any DVDs with Kenny Dorham, Hank Mobley, Lee Morgan, Horace Silver and co? Claude Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 (edited) As far as I know, no "historic" Blue Note session or Blue Note related concert has been filmed. The "Blue Note - A Story of Modern Jazz" documentary only contains stills (photos by Francis Wolff). For general info on jazz films, check this site: www.jazzonfilm.com The selection of historic jazz documents on DVD is extremely small. Edited October 29, 2004 by Claude Quote
bertrand Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 The Connection movie features complete performances of all 7 Reddie Redd tunes from the BN date with the exact same band. That's the closest we'll ever get. Bertrand. Quote
