Alfred Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 The music industries newest idea to stop the downward trend. The DualDisc contains a CD on one side and a DVD on the other side of the same disc. What about SACD & DVD-A? Already dead?! Columbia Legacy will start with Miles Davis - Kind of blue. This link will probably give us some more information about forthcoming releases! Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Dual disc is already old hat. The HEXADISC plays as a CD, SACD, DVD, DVD-CD and Minidisc on five of its respective sides. The sixth side has the CD with built in snaps, crackles, pops and jumps to please the vinyl market. The Hexadisc can also be used as a Rubiks Cube. A new player is mandatory, of course. As is rebuying your record collection. Quote
Claude Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 MILES DAVIS/KIND OF BLUE (DualDisc) Kind Of Blue is certainly the one jazz album which has made its way into everyone's collection. This new DualDisc features the CD on one side and for the DVD side the entire album is repeated in both 5.1 Surround Sound and enhanced LPCM Stereo. A 25-minute documentary on the making of the album is included. The film, Made In Heaven, features black & white footage, vintage stills, interviews with trumpeter Miles Davis and pianist Bill Evans. This definitive edition of this classic has been remixed from the original 3-track masters, the first three songs now being in their correct pitch. It also includes a rare alternatetake of "FlamencoSketches." http://www.amusicdirect.com/products/detai...?sku=USONY90887 Quote
