BruceW Posted December 26, 2004 Report Posted December 26, 2004 B3-er Yeah it was great they won, but they almost gave it away again. I truly think they will be alright but Larry Brown needs to WORK on that bench unit. B-) Quote
Soulstation1 Posted December 27, 2004 Report Posted December 27, 2004 can lebron go down as one of the greatest players of all time? his skill level at 20 years old is incredible, more skills than kobe at the same age the suns are kicking ass, i said to keep an eye on them early in the season ss1 Quote
Guy Berger Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 Just got back from a Warriors game with my dad and brother; they (barely) beat a crippled Nuggets team. With this latest three game winning streak they creep up from awful to respectably bad. Guy Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 Bill Simmons, The Sports Guy, rated the Celtic players recently on his page: The Sports Guy This quote just made me laugh out loud: RICKY DAVIS Here's the Ricky moment that sums everything up: We're down by 22 to the Pistons with six minutes to go in the fourth. Larry Brown puts Darko Milicic and the autistic kid wearing the peanut costume from Carver High in the game, signifying that, yes, we're officially in garbage time. So Ricky gets a steal, streaks down the side and unleashes a hellacious dunk ... and then he stares down the Pistons bench for a second before running back up the floor. Billups and the Wallace brothers were looking at each other like, "Whaaaat? Wait a second, whaaaaaat?" Quote
Soulstation1 Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 just got back from the game, sat in the upper deck suns are tough ss1 Quote
rachel Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Watched the game last night. The Suns have to be the quickest team in I don't remember how long. Poor Shaq was wheezin'... Quote
BruceW Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Comon Piston fans, keep this thread alive... Yeah that's right, Pistons on the move..... Don't hate, don't underestimate and don't be late.... Go Pistons B-) Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 18, 2005 Author Report Posted January 18, 2005 I'm with you, brother! Great win over the Suns today.... unfortunately I didn't realize it was an early game, so I missed it, but I'll be watching the game against Orlando tomorro! Quote
ejp626 Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 How about some love for the Bulls? 7 wins in a row, including two come from behind victories against the Knicks. Last year's team would definitely have folded. I am astonished, but they are better than mediocre and actually have flashes of goodness. They should make the playoffs and maybe even get past the first round. And assuming that most the very young players return, they have a decent core to keep building upon. Quote
Noj Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 At this point I think it will be San Antonio vs either Miami or Detroit in the Finals. Shaq and Wade might be too much for the Pistons, especially if a third player steps up to play big for the Heat. I think Haslem can be that third threat for them. I don't think Phoenix or Seattle will have what it takes come playoff time. My Flakers suck worse than my PaperClips, at this point. I'm actually hoping the Lakers miss the playoffs, maybe get a good draft pick or something. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 18, 2005 Author Report Posted January 18, 2005 I don't know... that last Heat/Pistons game was really close up until the fourth quarter where all of a sudden the Pistons changed into a different team. I think they (the Pistons) are clicking more than ever and are going to be very tough. Quote
Noj Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 The Heat need to unload the pouter Eddie Jones. He's not going to help them win. You'll notice I didn't mention him as the third player to step up for Miami. I still think the Pistons will be right there, I just think Shaq and Wade could possibly take them down. The Pistons' bench isn't quite as strong as it was. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 i guess i'm back with the lakers for the next couple weeks. since kobe's out it's be nice to see them win some games w/o his sorry ass suns have hit a bump in the road why ain't nobody talkin' about lebron? the heat need to pick up an outside shooter ss1 ss1 Quote
Soulstation1 Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 WTF is up with da bulls? is mj playin' for them again?? it looks like lebron suffered a serious ankle sprain last night ALL of lebron dunks are vicious and nasty any mvp picks so far ss1 Quote
Noj Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 LeBron is the most exciting player alive. I hope his ankle isn't hurt bad. According to ESPN last night the MVP is a toss up between LeBron and Nash, but I'd give it to Shaq or Duncan myself. The Baby Bulls are growing up! The solid play of Hinrich sets the pace. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 (edited) lebron's play will make you go out and buy some cavs gear, two years ago nobody was a cavs fan. ss1 Edited January 27, 2005 by Soulstation1 Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 27, 2005 Author Report Posted January 27, 2005 LeBron is crazy. Pistons finally won one last night after losing four straight (that loss against Minneapolis was bullshit... the refs should've called goal tending and the Piston's would've won it). Clippers slapped around the Lakers last night. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 28, 2005 Author Report Posted January 28, 2005 Pistons are stompin' the Pacers right now. Is rachel at the game? Quote
Noj Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Clippers slapped around the Lakers last night. The Clippers have a better team than the Lakers--even with Kobe, who didn't play last night. The Clippers have superior point guards, better post players, and a deeper bench. Got the Kings at the Spurs on right now. Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili play the game the way it is meant to be played. Quote
ejp626 Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 (edited) I tell you in all seriousness that no one in Chicago expected this, but it is very nice to see the Bulls return to respectability. They have an incredible bench. I don't think they will get too far in the playoffs this year, but if most of the team returns and they continue playing defense and good, unselfish team ball (yeah some big ifs), we should have some very solid seasons. This is a very, very young team, so they should continue to improve, especially as they no longer have any bitter veterans to drag them down (and no I wasn't talking about Pippen who was on the roster last year). Soulstation1 Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 one thing that will never happen again the pacers/pistons squaring off both teams learned a lesson ss1 Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 28, 2005 Author Report Posted January 28, 2005 I think the whole NBA learned a lesson. But unfortunately both the Pistons and the Pacers are going to be stigmatized by the refs for a long time. In last nights game they were handing out technical fouls like they were going out of style. They gave one to Reggie in the first few minutes of the first quarter for nothing. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted January 30, 2005 Author Report Posted January 30, 2005 Pistons smacked around the Knicks tonight. No surprise there. I didn't see the game as I had a gig but I like this line from the ESPN recap: The NBA champion Pistons will visit the White House on Monday, but Rasheed Wallace is not excited. "I didn't vote for him," he said. Another reason to love the guy! Quote
