You could hear alot of it, which I thought was a bit of an invasion by ABC. He said to Rip to keep playing and keep those legs moving as long as he could because he's "the truth."

Great moment at the end. Bring on Miami. Fianlly, a team with a remote possibility to beat the pistons. too bad they wont. Sheed is gonna own Udonis Haslem and the Heat only have two guys (flash and eddie) who can do anything against Tay, Rip, and Chauncey. Everytime down the court the pistons will have two or three advantages. Miami will only have one, a hobble Shaq who the Pistons have already shown they can stop.

DWade needs to up his already unbelievable playoff performance to have a chance.

Farewell to Reggie Miller.

He was a very good player (I don't know about great, but he was very good.)

Very classy of Larry Brown to call a time out in order to extend Reggie's ovation. I agree with Paul and SS, by the way -- Reggie was a very good, even great, player but probably not a superstar.

E. Dampier stinks..... out of position,  missing multiple putbacks.

Can't finish....  team covers by saying they don't need scoring from him.  Wow, if he made those 5 to 6 putbacks, it would have changed complexion of the game.

DAAAAMN FUCKING STRAIGHT!!!! How did the Mavs get to the playoffs with this loser? That last game was the biggest choke since the Houston Oilers gave up 35 unanswered points to the Buffalo Bills! And to think the Mavs had the lead after the 3rd quarter!!! UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE!!!! :angry::angry::angry:

Hell, if Dampier's the 2nd-best center, I must be third!!! I hope the Mavs faithful boo his worthless ass when he hits the court in Big D on Friday! :angry:

and you guys thought I was being rough on Dampier :excited:

Another thing Reggie said to Rip "There are no more like us" "Play as long as you can" obviously referring to a guy who can rip and run most of the game using curls and non stop defense.

:D

Well, well, well, it does look like the Pistons :bwallace::bwallace::bwallace::bwallace::bwallace:

Hey SS1 :lol::lol::lol::lol:

I think the Spurs are substantially more talented than the Sonics, though the playoffs are all about execution.  The Spurs didn't execute on Sunday.  They did in the first game in Seattle, but Duncan didn't get a good shot off at the end of the game.  Otherwise they win that game.  And I don't give Seattle any credit on that last shot, it was simply a bad shot by Duncan.

I think the Spurs will come out, play hard, and win tonight, and will win the series in either 6 or 7 games.

Spurs took the series 4-2 last night. IMO it was a GREAT game, hard fought on both sides. Ray Allen is a warrior, and I hope the Sonics aren't foolish enough to let him go in the off-season. Daniels played a great game as well. Fortson got away with a cheap shot against Ginobili late in the game again, his reputation is deserved, I think.

Duncan couldn't buy a shot all night (except from the free throw line), but when the game was on the line he was able to score the game winning basket on a great pass from Ginobili. Unlike in Game 3 when he clanked it off the rim.

I don't know that either the Suns or the Mavs will be as physical with the Spurs as the Nuggets and the Sonics have been so far. But either way it should be a great series coming up.

Hats off to the classy Reggie Miller!

...and we have overtime.

p.s. I haven't watched a Walton-commentated game in a long time. How can one man spew so much nonsense so productively?

p.p.s. Alright who still thinks Nash shouldn't have been the MVP?

reggie basically told rip to play as hard as he can, for as long as he can

they had a mic over the two, plus rip said that's what was said

i'm not sure about reggie as a hof-er

rvg v rvg in the next series?

Not only IS Reggie a superstar (despite playing in a small market), I would start taking bets now that he will absolutely be a hall of famer!

Here's a pretty good argument from ESPN's Sports Guy for why Reggie was not a "superstar".

**SUPERSTARS FROM REGGIE'S ERA**

Jordan – All-Star (14) ... 1st-team (10) ... 2nd-team (1).

Bird – All-Star (12) ... 1st-team (9) ... 2nd-team (2).

Magic – All-Star (12) ... 1st-team (9) ... 2nd-team (1).

Hakeem – All-Star (12) ... 1st-team (6) ... 2nd-team (3).

Barkley – All-Star (12) ... 1st-team (5) ... 2nd-team (5).

Isiah – All-Star (12) ... 1st-team (3) ... 2nd-team (2).

Moses – All-Star (12) ... 1st-team (4) ... 2nd-team (4).

Robinson – All-Star (10) ... 1st-team (4) ... 2nd-team (2).

Mailman – All-Star (14) ... 1st-team (11) ... 2nd-team (2).

Ewing – All-Star (11) ... 1st-team (1) ... 2nd-team (6).

Shaq – All-Star (11) ... 1st-team (6) ... 2nd-team (2).

Stockton – All-Star (10) ... 1st-team (2) ... 2nd-team (6).

Dominique – All-Star (8) ... 1st-team (1) ... 2nd-team (4).

Pippen – All-Star (7) ... 1st-team (3) ... 2nd-team (2).

**SUPERSTARS CURRENTLY IN THEIR PRIMES**

Kobe – All-Star (6) ... 1st-team (3) ... 2nd-team (2).

Iverson – All-Star (5) ... 1st-team (2) ... 2nd-team (3).

Garnett – All-Star (7) ... 1st-team (3) ... 2nd-team (2).

Duncan – All-Star (6) ... 1st-team (7) ... 2nd-team (0).

**REGGIE'S NUMBERS**

Miller – All-Star (5) ... 1st-team (0) ... 2nd-team (0).

Does that mean he wasn't a great player? Of course not. Like Worthy, McHale, Dumars, DJ, Drexler, Pippen, Dominique and even Stockton, he cracked that class of "Guys Who Had Great Careers & Weren't Quite Franchise Players." Which isn't a bad thing. With MJ removed from the picture, Reggie would have been remembered as the premier clutch shooter of his era, a superb scorer who saved his best for last (making him a significant weapon on a good team). His flair for The Moment made him more fun to watch in big games than just about anyone else – Reggie was the closest thing in the NBA to having a Hall of Fame baseball closer, someone who could absolutely become the crunch-time scorer on a top-four team (which Indiana was in '94, '95 and '00). If Indiana was protecting a lead in the final minute, you couldn't foul him because he was a mortal lock to drain both free throws. And nobody – repeat: nobody – received more ridiculous calls over the last 12 years, so the officials certainly enjoyed watching him.

But here's the thing: Superstars carry their teams on both ends of the floor, and superstars can affect games on nights when they can't make a shot. Reggie may have been a reliable scorer, but he was also a subpar defensive player who didn't rebound or create shots for other players, someone who needed to play in an offense constructed in a specific way so he could succeed. Since Reggie could never consistently beat good defenders off the dribble, the Pacers have always sprinted him around a series of picks – almost like a mouse going through a maze – to spring him for open shots. Their big men needed to keep setting those picks, their point guard needed to kill time on the top of the key waiting for him to get open ... basically, everyone else was tailoring their games to his game. And I'm not sure you can win a title that way.

Marc Cuban, apparently. <_<

GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! :angry::angry::angry:

I actually think Cuban made the right decision, given what we knew at the time... It turned out to be unlucky.

Dirk had every right to get in Dampier's face for his nonplays and nonscoring;

had every right to get on Terry for not fouling to prevent the 3 pt shot: Dallas had game 6 and let it get away;

BUT Dirk needs to FINISH a lot of his own shots around the bucket.....

maybe next year he can do that......

tim should just chill at his crib today...

:g

Soustation1,

Man, you are really having a hard time with your predicative statements, huh :g

Everything keeps happening in reverse, obviously Timmy did not chill today.....

Hey have you been listening to the pundits and commentators on who they think (at this time) will really win the title.... Detroit Pistons. :lol:

Nash shoulda been called for a technical at the end when he grabbed Horry who was about to inbound the ball.

Manu played a great game, all around. Parker played Nash solid, as well. Suns don't play the tough defense that the Nuggets and Sonics did against the Spurs. I think that's gonna be their downfall, nothing wrong at the other end of the court.

Duncan's foul troubles (pretty petty calls on a couple of them) contributed to the Sun's comeback tonight, I think, but hats off to the Spurs for winning the first two on the road.

Why is the next game in this series not until Saturday?
