Share Your Faults

I've been running through my mind the many ways that I'm less than perfect -- something I do several time a day (and night) -- and was wondering if anyone else on this board had a fault or two (or three...) that they'd like to share.

Recent discovery for me: I've been diagnosed as a control freak. (Not the opinion of a professional but volunteered by a co-worker. Fortunately, she's beloved and it was offered in a gently bemused way so I'll allow her to continue living.) I like things done my way as my way is the best way. If I can't get it done my way, I'll do it myself. (Most people around me tend to like that second part. Could it be that they're purposely not pleasing me so I'll go the self-serve route?)

Anyway, anyone else imperfect?

(Those not responding will be cosidered aloof and therefore, imperfect.)

Temper.

Anyone's temper ever cost them money?

Late '70s, my first car, an early-'70s Torino Elite. Beautiful car! Bought it second (or third) hand from some outfit on Abbott Road in South Buffalo. Car always gave me problems, especially with starting! Sooo... It's a dark and very wintery night in Buffalo. I'm in a Wegmans (supermarket) parking lot and AGAIN the effing car won't start. (The clowns who sold me the car -- for $1,900, by the way -- had addressed this and several other problems numerous times before.) In a rage, I floor the accelerator, turn the key and listen to the thing sputter. Cursing so that all of Buffalo could hear me, I keep the gas pedal floored, the engine finally kicks in but and as I'm still shouting every curse word known to man, I don't notice. What happens? A rod shoots through the engine. Amazingly, I'm able to keep the car running and make my way to the creeps who sold me the lemon.

Price tag to fix? $600 for a new engine. (Took forever and cost me closer to $700.)

I had the work done and sold the car shortly thereafter.

I may have failed to mention to the kid who bought the car from me this part of its history. :w
