Jazzmoose Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 I've never been that comfortable with the Jazz Corner Speakeasy. I have been checking it out this week. Ugh. I've been checking it out also. While what I read was interesting, and not what I'd heard at all (rumors of baby tossing, packs of wild wolves, etc...), their software is so SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW that I could never stay there for long. (I'm sure they're disappointed...) Quote
Out2Lunch Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Both this and the AAJ Board have some excellent features. Now there are two great places to visit and post and continue to share in the fellowship of warm jazz fans. Now all I need to do is to remove the Blue Note tattoo from my butt. They say it shouldn't hurt that much! Quote
Big Al Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 I like this place a LOT! So much so, I reverted back to my old original handle! So, for those of you who didn't lose interest back at the Bored (all but two of you, I think), I am now The Former Blue Note Bulletin Bored Poster Originally Known As Big Al Who Decided To Use His Birth Name (Or A Shortened Version Of It, Anyway) Al Rearick But Then Changed It Back Once Again To Big Al. (Or, [sigh] TFBNBBPOKABAWDTUHFBVERBLITZNER...... ah, heck with it. Quote
Guest Chaney Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Awwwwwwww..... A pooty tat! Jazzmoose, I believe the Jazz Corner is about to move into the 21st century by shortly losing the antiquated software and going modern. Maybe they'll buy the BNBB software package? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted March 10, 2003 Author Report Posted March 10, 2003 So I asked my server dude about bandwidth issues and he said it shouldn't be a problem. He's not even going to "raise the rent" so to speak for my website, so everything is groovy! If any of you are looking for webspace, I highly recommend these guys. Chain Communications They are very inexpensive and have a lot of features to offer. Quote
Theo Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 So, like are you gonna do pop-ups and stuff? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted March 10, 2003 Author Report Posted March 10, 2003 No pop-ups. But soon this whole place will be one big mess of banner ads. Quote
Guest Chaney Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 No pop-ups. But soon this whole place will be one big mess of banner ads. Great! Soon we'll all have a bigger penis! Quote
J.A.W. Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 No pop-ups. But soon this whole place will be one big mess of banner ads. Great! Soon we'll all have a bigger penis! Quote
shawn·m Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 I’m split between here and AAJ so I’m unable to cast a vote. For the moment, I like the idea of having more than one place to go. Human nature being what it is, I expect I’ll call a home-site sometime in the future —but I see no reason to rush the process. Quote
shawn·m Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Well crud, I just realized a flaw in my reasoning. Bouncing between two sites is just fine when replying to an existing topics, but I’m not much interested in starting the same topic on both boards at the same time. Details, details… Quote
slsmcgrew Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 (edited) No pop-ups. But soon this whole place will be one big mess of banner ads. Great! Soon we'll all have a bigger penis! And own spy-cams and have lots of dates. Of course I don't have a penis I wouldn't read the ad anyway. Edited March 11, 2003 by slsmcgrew Quote
JSngry Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Of course I don't have a penis I wouldn't read the ad anyway. Intentionally or not, you have just paid your husband quite a compliment... Quote
Dan Gould Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 She didn't say she wouldn't bring it to his attention, just that it doesn't apply to her as she does not have the appendage in question!! Quote
JSngry Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I've got about 5 snappy retorts ready, but out of respect for good customers and cyber-friends, I'll let sls make her own joke, if she wants too... Quote
slsmcgrew Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I realized after I posted my remarks that: 1. I was more tired than I thought 2. I deserved anything thrown at me 3. The ads of course wouldn't apply to me and 4. My husband doesn't need them either My God, I'm I lucky Quote
RDK Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 If you ask me, the fact that his wife frequents a jazz bulletin board makes your husband the lucky one! Quote
shawn·m Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Brutal Joe doesn’t know if he should raise from the praise, or be spittin’ mad from the insult. Quote
Eric Posted February 26, 2005 Report Posted February 26, 2005 so when is the two year aniversary party?? Quote
