Free For All
Well, that's sad, especially since his condition seemed to be improving. The way his life played out was one's of life's ironies, you know, as far as his association with the "Superman" role. He had an interesting role in the film "Deathtrap". brownie
It came on the wire minutes after a first search proved negative. I was glad it went negative. Very sad now...
BERIGAN
I really liked him in the first 2 superman movies, just the right amount of humor...he was largely wasted in the pretty bad Switching Channels, I thought was so funny in his role as a vain ass.... too bad he didn't get more chances at light comedy. Guest Chaney
As good as Reeve was as Superman, his acting career had little impetus. Needless to say, the greatest contributions to society made by Reeve were made after his accident. Reeve played a recurring character on the WB series Smallville. Wonder if his death will be addressed in some way. (He didn't appear very often but his character knew that the young Clark Kent was not from earth and he seemed to hold clues as to Clark's future. Margot Kidder appeared in this season's premier, delivering black kryptonite from the Reeve character to Mrs Kent. [Reeve did not appear in this season's premier episode.] Cute eh? Reeve and Kidder together again, sort of. AND the Kidder character also admits to Mrs. Kent her secret love for the Reeve charatcter.) Shawn
He was good in Remains Of The Day and I've always liked the tearjerker Somewhere In Time (mostly because I loved the Richard Matheson novel it was based on).

maren
Very sad. Humbling to think of how vulnerable our bodies are -- at first I was stunned that someone who could presumably buy the best of care could succumb to an infected pressure sore -- but life really is precarious, even thought it houses a drive that's tenacious. Two good friends of mine went to high school with him, so I'm feeling this in a more personal way, too. Only 52 -- same age as me and my friends.
