catesta Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 I really enjoyed the musicboy controversy. I haven't seen exchanges like that since the old BNBB days. Does anyone want to crash another BB? Quote
Out2Lunch Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 I'm up for asking if Ravi Shankar has a favorite color. Does he have his own board or is he riding on the skirt-tails of his famous off-spring, I can't remember her name at the moment, Nola Something.............................................. Quote
catesta Posted May 21, 2003 Author Report Posted May 21, 2003 How about.... What song should Ravi cover next? Quote

Out2Lunch Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 (edited) Nola Jordan? Wasn't she with the Tympany 5? Edited May 21, 2003 by Out2Lunch Quote
Ed S Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 No, I'm pretty sure she's Ronnie Shankar's daughter. Quote
Alexander Hawkins Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 I'm disappointed, I thought this thread was going to be a poll. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 I know this will cause trouble, BUT Nora's father is not a Christian. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Isn't Ravi Shankar George Harrison's daughter? Quote
JSngry Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Isn't Ravi Shankar George Harrison's daughter? No, that's REX Harrison. Ravi Shankar is Ravi Coltrane's half-father, and George Jones' brother-in-law by marriage once removed. L. Shankar is no relation to L. Ron Hubbard, but the similarity ends there, even though they both need insulination in their attics becuse they are dianetics, like Ron Santo, formerly of Santo & Johnny fame (no relation, btw). Claude Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 (edited) Norah Jones and jazz purists loved this USA Today headline : http://www.usatoday.com/tech/webguide/inte...leb-jones_x.htm Edited May 22, 2003 by Claude Quote
Out2Lunch Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 I'm impressed. I never knew that she was Anoushka Shankar's half sister Quote
Robert J Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Strange Karma, (from Ravi?) I just got hired yesterday as a rehearsal pianist for a vocal show coming up at a private high school. A whole gamut from Ave Maria, Whitney Houston, selections from "Chicago", "Rent" etc. Then there's Norah Jones' "I Don't Know Why". Thing is, I've never heard the tune. I had to go to her official website to download the song! Am I forgiven? Quote
JSngry Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Where does Ravi Olie come in? In a can, if you're Chef Boy-ar-dee (who, by the way, is the father of Frank O. Americanne). Quote

Joe G Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 (edited) Wow. BTW, nice tatoos on the hind-quarters there There's a fashion trend I've been noticing lately: Printed words on the seats of women's pants. At first I thought this was like having written permission to have a look. But I just realized that what I've seen printed in both cases was a brand name. So basically it's just another form of advertisement, only this time emblazoned across a woman's butt! Edited May 22, 2003 by Joe G Quote

If you look closely the tattoo on the right butt says "Come Away With Me" and the butt on the left says "Blue Note Records" I think this is partly why they closed down the Blue Note Board. They found better "areas" to advertise on/in. Edited May 22, 2003 by Out2Lunch Quote
catesta Posted May 22, 2003 Author Report Posted May 22, 2003 My first thought was "THOSE BASTARDS!" My second was, "where is the damn zoom button at?" Quote
