Shrdlu
Thanks, Hans, for regularly posting these lists. With these Japanese CDs, you have to move quickly. If you blink, they are OOP.
Dan Gould
Thanks, Hans, for regularly posting these lists. With these Japanese CDs, you have to move quickly. If you blink, they are OOP. Yeah, but blink again and they're back in print. I got the Bennie Green Hornful of Soul the last time it was available, either from Mr. Tanno or The Bastards. jazzbo
Yes, the Basies appear new to cd from Japan, but the Bethlehems I believe are all reissued once again. . . a good thing!
David Ayers
Thanks, Hans, for regularly posting these lists. With these Japanese CDs, you have to move quickly. If you blink, they are OOP. Yeah, but blink again and they're back in print. But now they have got CARDBOARD SLEEVES! I mean - just think - real, actual 100% cardboard...!!! It's a sort of technological miracle.

Son-of-a-Weizen
The McKusick is the one that was only out on Fresh Sounds?
jazzbo
Pretty sure that I have the former TOCJ of this one at home. . . .
bertrand
Have they found the missing tracks from the Herbie Nichols session? If so, I'm buying! Bertrand.
grey
but the Bethlehems I believe are all reissued once again But this time they are upgraded to 24 Bit and come in the Mini-LP format. The Mini-LP format which attempts to replicate the oriiginal LP is extremely popular in Japan. When I have offered the same JRVG Vs TOCJ title simultaneously I get around 3 to 1 requests for the JRVG Vs TOCJ. My experience demonstrates that is also the case of Digital K2 Vs 20 Bit K2. The Sal Salvador title is excellent and hopefully they reissue the other 2 Salvador Bethlehem titles that were previously released.
Son-of-a-Weizen
Pretty sure that I have the former TOCJ of this one at home. . . . Oh, the Japanese Bethlehem's the one? I have a burn of that and wasn't sure that it was the same as the title on the Tanno list.

I have a burn of that and wasn't sure that it was the same as the title on the Tanno list. The Hal McKusick Quartet on Fresh Sound 41 is the same as Bethlehem BCP-16. It was McKusick's only Bethlehem date. Recorded in NYC on February 17, 1955 Personnel: Hal McKusick - clarinet, alto saxophone Barry Galbraith - guitar Milt Hinton - bass Osie Johnson - drums Tracks: By-Ian Blue-Who What's New Interwoven Give 'Em Hal Minor Matters Taylor Made You Don't Know What Love Is They Can't Take That Away from Me Lullaby for Leslie
jazzbo
I've had the same title on Fresh Sounds and TOCJ before. . . kept the TOCJs. I guess it's good that these are upgraded to 24 bit. . . and lp facimiled. . . . I'm not rebuying titles, but I might buy some I hadn't had on TOCJ before! jazzbo
I doubt they found any extra Nichols tracks Bertrand, wish they had. Wish "East Coasting" were in this batch!
