Michael Fitzgerald Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 All occurrences of said alto player in discographies of mine are as: Sylvester 'Sonny Red' Kyner - that's how he's entered in the database. I have to remember to look for him under K when I need his name. Other odd ones to file are Big Maybelle and Red Rodney. Mike Quote
Alexander Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 ...so I guess Little Walter would really mess you up? (L, W, J?) I file Little Walter right next to Little Richard...both under "L." Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 My Chess cds are filed under Jacobs. Quote
RDK Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Count on Sangrey to ask an apparently dumb question that ends up turning into a fairly interesting thread... Quote
Michael Fitzgerald Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 OK - lightning round: 1. Sonny Boy Williamson? 2. Clarence Shaw or Gene Shaw? (before or after D, E, F) 3. Hasaan Ibn Ali or William Henry Langford, Jr. - L? H? A? Mike Quote
Spontooneous Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 (edited) 1. W, whether John Lee Williamson or Rice Miller. 2. Gene. 3. Max Roach. Nobody's asked about St. Louis Jimmy, who's under Oden in my collection. Edited September 4, 2004 by Spontooneous Quote
Steve Gray Posted September 4, 2004 Report Posted September 4, 2004 Does anyone intermingle their CD's by Bill Evans and Yusef Lateef? Quote
JSngry Posted September 4, 2004 Author Report Posted September 4, 2004 Count on Sangrey to ask an apparently dumb question that ends up turning into a fairly interesting thread... HEY!!! "Apparently dumb" would be asking if you file your Japanese CDs "right side out", with the Japanese title showing on the spine. or "backwards" with the English title showing. Quote
