Larry Kart Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Granville Theodore Hogan Jr. (G.T. Hogan) born 1/16/29 in Galveston, Tex. Don't know those details on Wilbur Hogan, except that he is or was, as they say, a different drummer. I know this BTW because the subject came up some 45 years ago, when G.T. was making his few but excellent records (e.g. Two Horns Plus Rhythm, with Kenny Dorham and Ernie Henry) and the distinction between the two drumming Hogans was explicitly made. Guest Bill Barton Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Oh, man, more sad news... R.I.P. indeed! Quote
mikeweil Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Please note that he passed three years ago - I just happened to look him up on AMG after listening to a Randy Weston album. Still a bit of skepticism remains, I must admit. Quote
