I thought that I'd mention this sale. Their stock isn't huge, but the deals are good in this sale. They do have some Steeplechase titles that are usually higher priced. I don't work there. Spend some more money, make your wives happy!

I used to recommend Django's but with this last sale, I ordered several used DVDs. Order went through, confirmation E-mail received... then I got an E-mail saying the items I ordered are no longer available. Basically, their web site no longer reflects actual stock, just stock as entered into their system. I doubt I'll be using this web site much more after this.

Kevin

If they were used someone just got 'em ahead of you. That happens. They may have only had 1 copy of the title throughout their nationwide group of participating stores.

I got a notification yesterday for a used copy of Sweet Rain, but by the time I responded it 'twas gone. Foiled again!

Of late I've had the same experience as Kevin on several occasions. I think Django's has become a loose confededration for many used cd outlets. I know I see the same bar code label on every disc I order from them and ALSO at the local CD WORLD and CD WAREHOUSE. If a cd sells in a store and the inventory isn't updated quickly - you get the email that the item is not available. I'll continue ordering from them if the price is right, but it sucks when they don't come through.

Yeah, I'd say it happens with more than 10% (but < 20%) of my picks. Once I had an order of 3 discs where 2 didn't come through, and that stinks. But I've gotten so many good deals and hard to find titles that I'll keep doing business with them.

I've also spotted the CD Warehouse stickers on discs. I've also ordered used discs that arrived new, yet was charged the used price.

And they certainly are getting to be a bigger & looser confederation. I live within 100 miles of the Portland store so anything from there gets here quickly. However, anytime a disc comes from Mesquite, TX or Tulsa, OK, it takes almost a month to get here. Now I know, but the first time it happened I contacted them after 3 weeks and they credited my account assuming it was lost. When it finally arrived (being a good boy) I let them know and was willing to pay them, but they let me have it for free.

Thanks for posting the coupon code. I rarely order from these guys, because their prices, especially on used stuff, have drifted upward. [Another potential transaction cost for individuals that don't live alone is that the loose confederation of stores ship their items separately, so if you place a large order, odds are you'll be collecting numerous packages, over a course of weeks, in your mail.]

We'll see if the Jarrett "Bye Bye Blackbird" and new Stanko (my first foray into this artist) that I selected arrive (methinks the latter may not actually be in stock). Django stockouts annoy me less than receiving an item in a completely crushed jewel case. (I know its a used item, but if I was in the actual store, I'd know about a crushed jewel case before making a purchasing decision, and would ask for a replacement. Online customers should not be taken advantage of in this fashion.)
