dave9199 Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 My wife & I are going for both days. I wanted to see Ornette Coleman as out of all of my jazz cds, he's the only one still alive. Quote

Dmitry Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 I am seriously thinking of going. It would be my first visit there. Finding a hotel must be a killer this time of year though. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 (edited) My wife is away that time, I could just sleep in the car. Edited August 6, 2004 by Hardbopjazz Quote

.:.impossible Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 I'll probably be there, at least for Sunday. Although Saturday sounds pretty good too. Ornette with Greg Cohen on bass should be cool. Dave, it will be good to see you and Phyllis again. Maybe I'll have those CDRs I owe you! We'll have to make plans if I can get tickets. Dmitry, let me know if you are coming into town too. Quote
robviti Posted August 9, 2004 Report Posted August 9, 2004 i'll be attending sunday's festivities with my older brother (the one who turned me onto jazz 30 years ago). i hope it doesn't rain! B-) Quote
dave9199 Posted August 9, 2004 Author Report Posted August 9, 2004 They say it does rain at least one day, really. Quote
robviti Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 i've checked the website and reviewed the faqs, but for the life of me i can't figure out when the gates open on saturday and sunday. the music starts at 11:30am, but i want to get there earlier. anyone have this information? Quote
dave9199 Posted August 10, 2004 Author Report Posted August 10, 2004 If I remember correctly, it might be 10:30. Quote
robviti Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 (edited) i had my brother check the tickets, and they say the gates open at 10am. i'm glad we got reserved seats at the mainstage so we don't have to get there that early. i'll ask a favor of anyone going to the festival on saturday: if you have any nightmares as far as traffic is concerned, could you please post it here or email me? thanks a lot. and to anyone from the board who's going sunday and wants to say "hi," i'll be in seat 13 or 14, row kk. that's like the second to last row on the left facing the stage. hey, it's better than sitting on a wet blanket, right? dave9199 Posted August 12, 2004 Author Report Posted August 12, 2004 My wife & I will be in row X, seat 1 & 2 on Saturday, and row Q, seat 27 & 28 on Sunday (purposely picked isle seats). If anyone wants to say hi, I'll be wearing black Converse sneakers with pink paint on them. House priming snafu, you see. Quote
