They're suppose to be touring to support this release. Brecker's chair will be filled by Peter Brotzmann.

Now wouldn't that be something!

Has anyone heard this one??

I picked it up, and the first 5 tracks were quite good IMO. Some very inspired playing on this disc. You can tell that being in each other's company really inspires the guys to play thier hardest. However, as I hit the last two tracks, (both with are very long, somewhat free, and require quite a bit of attention), I hit a really bad traffic jam, and started getting very frustrated. Therefore, I couldn't make a fair judgment on these last two. Gotta give this one another spin.

Any opinions?

Should be here within a week, will chime in then. I heard the first track at a listening post and was interested enough to invest in this. Had a smile when on that one track after the main solos, Lovano comes in trying to pick up on Brecker's closing run/phrase.

Yup, and Mars Williams will take over from Liebman, and Mats Gustafsson from Lovano, right? :g

I got it when it came out. It's quite good, although the last track is very "out." All three saxophonists are in great form.

Liebman spends most of the album on soprano, so I don't see why they'd tour as the three tenors.

Seriously! :P

The concept of this album reminded me of the famous 1966 concert in which Coltrane, Ayler, and a third tenor saxophonist (Sanders?) all played into the same microphone. Did a recording of that ever surface? Maybe I should check the forthcoming Ayler box tracklist, eh?
