The cd mentioned above is available at local record store as an used copy for only 5 Euros.I don't know much about Giuffre. I do have his album Free Fall and I like it very much.

Anyway...Is the cd worth buying?

It's kinda Weather Report-y in some ways, if you can believe that. Giuffre heard the coloristic possibilities in sythesizers, decided that it was good (or had the potential to be), and decided to check it out himself.

Good stuff, especially at that price.

I bought the cd yesterday and played it twice through.

It's a really accessible album and there is nothing wrong with the songs...except one thing:

Those synthesizers runs sound so corny and 80s ;)

There are two additional CDs in this "series": Dragonfly (1983) (Soulnote SN 1058-2), and Liquid Dancers (1991) (Soul Note 121158-2). Both are equally enjoyable, and feature the same quartet of Giuffre (ts, ss, fl, cl, bass-fl), Pete Levin (keyboards, Bob Nieske (el-b) and Randy Kaye (d). The music is constantly intriguing, if not really the kind one would habitually expect from Giuffre.
