Jazztropic Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 Anyone know where to get any of these Giants of Jazz cds. They were out a few years ago but I can never find them anymore. Thanks Quote
Philip Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 Still around in Europe, but this will have turned in to another grey market/copyright thread next time I look... Quote
Claude Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 They have recently reissued "Poem for Malcolm" by Archie Shepp, a BYG Actuel session which is also available from other labels. I have also seen a Wayne Shorter VeeJay album. Both don't have the original artwork. Quote
Leeway Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 These seem easier to find on vinyl than CD (if we're thinking of the same line). Don't these go by the Italian, "I Gigante dei Jazz"? Quote
Philip Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 Giants of Jazz CDs are (or were?) put out by a holding company called Sarabandas sri, a company also credited on the Joker issues. Quote
robviti Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 giants of jazz cds can easily be found on the internet. tower records lists 87 titles from this label and barnes and noble lists 49 items, many of which are in stock. you can also find these cds on half.com and probably other sites as well. BERIGAN Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 IF there is a FYE store near you, and if they still have some of their bargain cds in stock (They were a buck last I saw them) they had oodles and gobs of them... Quote
