jazzhound Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I believe this is oop on cd. Would like to buy original lp but cd is ok. Have lps and cds to trade. thanks. Quote
Dan Gould Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 The Fantasy website still lists this as available. I'd be surprised if its OOP as so few of their reissues seem to reach that sad state. Of course, if you really prefer the LP you're on your own. Quote
BFrank Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 You can even download this from EMusic. The quality of the Fantasy MP3's over there aren't always first rate, though. Quote
Kevin Bresnahan Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Ah... one of my favorite Stitt CDs. I always thought this was a "CD Only" release? Isn't this disc almost 60 minutes long with 2 or 3 bonus cuts? Was it a 2 LP set? "Sonny's Book" is one of my favorite blues tunes. Later, Kevin Quote
desertblues Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 I have the original 1965 Prestige lp-it's a single album with four lengthy tracks (40 minutes worth): Soul People, Sonny's Book, "C" Jam Blues and a medley of I Can't Get Started/Masquerade Is Over. Pairing Stitt with Ervin was pure genius! Quote
