Another "yes", but thing is I get so much stuff burned by kind souls, too, and these always interferes with what I buy.

I try to do as JohnS does, and hope to end up like catesta - hey, I'm still young! Gotta give me a chance to try and get reasonable!

I usually am able to listen to all new CDs I buy once, though there are certainly several unwrapped CDs on my shelves. To my shame, I have never even listened the Hank Mobley Mosaic CDs and the Horace Parlan CDs, and I know I will love them! (I did have a few of the Parlans as individual CDs and listened to them that way.) Anyway, once I listen to something, it goes back on the shelves and probably won't be spun again for a year or more. But somehow knowing I CAN play them anytime I want makes it seem reasonable. This board has not helped my addiction, unless you count feeding an addiction as "helpful."

As a sucker for a good deal, I have a huge backlog. If I see something that I know I won't find at a better price and it's something that belongs in my collection, I grab it. I try to listen to this stuff ASAP but I've got about 75 LPs purchased Tuesday that I won't get to for a while. And there's more stuff in the mail.

I probably fit into this category. This Board doesn't help. I like to have the title available in order to understand the insightful comments made by the members of the Board. Even though I may not feel that I can contribute to the discussion about some titles, I always enjoy the comments made by others, especially when I am listening to the title as I read the thread!!!! Unfortunately there are too many obscure titiles that are discussed. I sometimes feel it is a competition as to who has the most obscure titles rather than a discussiorn about the artist' contribution and performance. Keeps me looking however.

I do have dozens of CDs that I've yet to listen to but what's the big deal? All were paid for from my wallet. All are owned by me. I'm supporting the tiny sector of music which I enjoy. I'll get to them when I get to them. STOP HASSLIN' ME... MAN! ^_^

Too much good music, not enough time and especially not enough money to indulge as I'd like. And as I'm not (and never have been) willing to put myself into serious debt feeding my habit, no biggie.

Q: Will I buy more before I get to them?

A: :w

I've bought maybe a half dozen recordings over the past six months, and I still have a lot of catching up to do. There's my answer.

I also have a lot of CDs and LPs that I've only listened to once, and to me, that's not a good thing either.

Too much music - Too little time. One of (my) life's quandaries.

Buying faster than I can listen? Not so much.

Acquiring faster than I can listen? Definitely!

Dan puts his finger on the reason why I answered "no" to the poll!

But as far as the aquisition of new tunes...well, suffice it to say that CDR's take up very little physical space (1.5 mm per disc in width/height?); however, the 80 minutes per side has sure bolloxed up my ability to listen to every minute of music I own before I shuffle off this mortal coil!
