JSngry Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 They're making me feel like I've never been born! Quote
Dan Gould Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 I went with Ringo cause he seems like a carefree, easygoing bloke who knows just how much life smiled upon him. Quote
wesbed Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Yeah, it will be Ringo. It's ironic that Ringo was, to me, the least talented of the Fab Four but will probably live the longest. He seems the happiest of the group. Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 How come Yoko isn't on the list? She did scream and talk on Revolution #9. This has to make her a Beatle. Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 No, it makes her shrill & annoying. Quote
ghost of miles Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 But isn't Paul already--but... wha... It's all right there on the back of SGT. PEPPER, I tell you! Quote
J Larsen Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 I said Paul because it figures the biggest jerk would be the last to go. Quote
Johnny E Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 No, it makes her shrill & annoying. Yoko's awesome! Quote
dave9199 Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 As a big Beatle fan I hate to ask, but who's Bernard Purdie? Quote
7/4 Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 As a big Beatle fan I hate to ask, but who's Bernard Purdie? I don't know how he fits in with the Fab 4, but he's a drummer. Quote
jazzbo Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 He's one of the greatest drummers to draw breath. Hey, I personally always loved Ringo's drumming, one of the things I really like about the Beatles. Simple. Strong. Infectious. Damned clever shit. Quote
Aggie87 Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Doesn't Purdie claim to have drummed on half the Beatles' recordings, or something to that effect? Quote

jazzbo Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 I agree 100% with me and I used to be a drummer! Quote
jazzbo Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 (edited) By the way, I voted for Paul. I like him the least, I find him more annoying than Yoko, and so of course he'll live the longest. Edited July 21, 2004 by jazzbo Quote
jazzbo Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Yes, apparently Purdie has claimed he played on 21 Beatles tracks, and also tracks by the Monkees and the Animals. He's also claimed "Ringo didn't ever play on any of the shit, not in the early days". . . . The established wisdom seems to be that he overdubbed some drums on Tony Sheridan tracks. . . but I'm far from an expert (or very interested). Quote

7/4 Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 btw: last month I was on a date and we went to the movies. Sean Lennon and Lizzie Jagger were in line next to us. My date was impressed, I've seen him around town before. I was always more of a Stones fan... Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 I voted for Pete Best. Karma, or maybe he's helping it along. Quote
dave9199 Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 If Purdie says he played on the Tony Sheridan tracks, then he replaced Pete Best's drums no Ringo's. I voted for Ringo because the least important member will survive...i don't know, just because, I guess. And where's Alan White who played on a version of Love Me Do??? In 2 years everyone will play When I'm 64 when McCartney turns 64. They probably did this year as Ringo turned 64 this month. But enough about me... Quote

You've got a good point there, but I voted for Ringo. Least important, etc., and I kind of HOPE he lives longer than Paul. I agree with you about Ringo's drumming, too. But, much as I like to dump on Paul, he played some of the best rock'n'roll bass of the 60's. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 I voted for Pete Best. Karma, or maybe he's helping it along. Same here. He's gotta get something outta the gig... Quote
BruceH Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 Didn't he get two books (and counting) out of it? Quote
