Tjazz Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 (edited) If the CD is 79:57 long, how do you make a cd-r? When I try on NERO, I get a message saying the blank cd-r is too small. Seems like it needs 807 MB. Can I use a DVD-r? Edited July 19, 2004 by Tjazz Quote
rockefeller center Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Given that your CD-R writer supports overburning: Activate "disc overburning". Look in file/properties or something like that. I'm using the German version so... Quote
rockefeller center Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 You need a 700MB CD-R. 700MB ~ 80min audio. Quote
rockefeller center Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 (edited) From the Nero FAQ: 13. Can I use the Overburning feature with my CD Recorder ? Your CD Recorder must support the over burning feature. The Recorder must support this type of media as well. Some recorders support 80min media but will not support 90min or 99min media. You should make sure you have the latest version of Nero, though this is supported from Nero 5.0 and above. And you need to have the latest firmware for your recorder model, as it will contain information to enable over burning, but most importantly, it will contain Read/Write strategies for new CDR and CDRW brand of media and can resolve many issues you may otherwise run into. You MUST burn in ‘Disc-At-Once’ or ‘Disc-At-Once 96’ write mode or you can not over burn. The ‘multisession’ mode is not possible, if you want to burn such CDs. You MUST enable over burning in Nero's ‘File -> Preferences -> Expert Features’, or if you have Nero Express, do so from ‘More -> Configure -> Expert Features’. And you must deactivate/disable ‘Check for correct disc format’ from within Nero’s ‘Files -> Preferences -> General’, or from within Nero Express’s ‘More -> Configure -> General settings’. When you enable ‘Overburning’ in ‘Expert Features’, you should use the below settings based on the size of media you are working with: For 80min media set to - 82:00 For 90min media set to - 89:30 For 99min media set to - 99:54:74 Important Note: You can set it to 99:54:74 min so it will always enable burning to the max regardless of media used. http://www.nero.com/en/632173759380310.html#13 Edited July 19, 2004 by rockefeller center Quote
Pete B Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 You can download Feurio and use the cd copy function. I have used it to copy at cdr at 79:59. I have both Feurio and Nero and in most cases I prefer Feurio for burning cdrs. Quote
Parkertown Posted July 20, 2004 Report Posted July 20, 2004 One of Keith Jarrett's ":rarum" discs is exactly 80:00 minutes long. And I copied it with Nero after enabling overburning. Quote
Guest ariceffron Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 THATS JUST LIKE KEITH JARRETT ARLRITE Quote
andybleaden Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 Maybe Nero has a funditon that takes out the groans and moaning when it spots them coming.....you know just at that point that you are getting into the track Quote

Burning of 90 or 99 min discs can lead to unpredictable results. For an example, my Marantz (among newest players) CD4000 won't play tracks after 81 or 82 minutes or so. Perheaps head can not reach those tracks. Or it must be some toher media, don't know. Quote
