BFrank Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Yep. I have a vinyl reissue set on Verve by Roy Eldridge called "Dale's Wail". The first disk features OP on organ. It's an interesting sound, not like you usually would expect. Recorded in 1952-53, it might have a lot to do with the "technology" of what an organ sounded like at the time. Good album anyway. I'm sure it's been released on CD in some form. Pick it up. Quote
Daniel A Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 (edited) A friend recently played me Oscar's 1979 album for Pablo, 'Night Child'. It has the novelty of Oscar playing the Fender Rhodes, something I think he never did again. Interestingly, he seems to play a bit differently, using more sustained chords, which I know from my own experience can be fun doing if you normally play acoustic piano. As a whole, it's not by far one of his best albums. But at least I never heard anyone play the Fender Rhodes that fast... Edited March 11, 2003 by Daniel A Quote
