I believe that if you're a super-rich actor or "journalist" it's some sort of law that you have to buy a ranch. He needs a place to stash the toupees. Quote

According to one of the articles I read, Sam Donaldson owns three ranches in New Mexico, as if just one wasn't good enough.... Why to people have more than one Mosaic set??? Donaldson's ranch is in the south-central part of the state, between Roswell and Ruidoso. He is a native of El Paso, Texas, and his father bought farmland in New Mexico in 1910. Donaldson has added to the property over the years. Quote
