Columbia reissues Tubby Hayes/Gonsalves

Saw a post a while ago about reissues from the UK.One especially "Just Friends" Tubby Hayes and Paul Gonsalves.Is this true??

Not entirely sure but one track - 'Don't Fall Off The Bridge' from an LP called 'Change of Setting' (originally released as World Record Club ST 631) has been included on the new Gilles Peterson 'Impressed Vol 2' compilation. Several additional CDs for formerly rare LP-only releases (Mike Westbrook excepted) are slated for issue with this (including releases by Mike Taylor, Michael Garrick, Amancio D'Silva, Neil Ardley and Mike Westbrook) but no sign of the Gonsalves/Hayes as yet. Several of the CDs (Ardley, Garrick, Westbrook) are already out in the shops. A treasure trove at mid-price !

Hey, sidewinder, I know you and Bev and a few others start some threads on cool UK-reissues, but how would it be to have one regularly updated? I always try to remember some UK stuff that is recommended, but then I'm often too lazy to search for the various and usually rather short threads, or I simply can't remember the musicians anymore... Would you do a UK jazz reissues thread? I guess I would not be the only one interested!

Not anymore... came and went in about 2 months. Also, it was in mono and likely dubbed off an LP although I think it sounds like a pretty clean LP.

Got a copy of that Japanese mini LP/CD - plus '100% Proof' from the same mini series - for €10 each at the tail end of the summer sales at the FNAC store!
